The hotel is excellent. The food is great! It's better to choose the half-board option because the main restaurant has excellent cuisine. There is an Italian restaurant too, but it's not as good.

Yesterday we just checked in, here is a brief overview: 1. The location is superb! This is the main thing you pay for! Everything is nearby - JBR beach, promenade, Marina, Blue Water Island with the Dubai Eye. 2. It's not a 5-star hotel, a bit smaller, but overall not bad. 3. Breakfasts are decent, but we only found out on the 3rd day that you can order Eggs Benedict or 5 other types of eggs from the waiters. We were satisfied with the buffet and weren't hungry, but then we tried it and yes, it was delicious and served like in a restaurant, and you don't have to pay extra for it. 4. After waiting for a table during the first breakfast at 9:20, we came at 8:00 on the other days and had breakfast in an empty room. Yes, we set an alarm, but it was worth it. 5. We had half board, chose breakfast and lunch. Even though our guide said we didn't have to inform them, if we wanted, we could have lunch or dinner. We didn't have dinner once, lunch at 2 different restaurants - Matrino or by the pool (forgot the name), but we preferred the menu there, steak, sea bass, tuna ceviche, I recommend it, and the Royal egg, I suggest ordering it for breakfast. By the way, the water was clean and tempting every day! It was just cold and windy (I'm talking about the beach), but the pool was very warm, and the sun was shining there after 2:00 pm. In short, it didn't work out 😂.

avatar

Good evening. Could you please tell me how much the tax per room per night is and how much the deposit is?

avatar

20 dirhams per day is a tax, no deposit was given, they just said they didn't want to.

I have been to this hotel three times and have never waited in line for breakfast. They didn't take a deposit from us in November, only a tax. In previous visits, we paid 500 dirhams, also in dirhams. The hotel's one big downside is the absence of a beach!!!!! And so on until late at night. But we slept well, and all rooms face the sea, not the road and garbage bins like at the Sheraton. However, the sea in this area has become very dirty, so we will have to change hotels.

avatar

In January, the sea was good, plus the absence of a beach on the part opposite the hotel means that this piece is practically empty. Further on, there is an equipped beach strip and there are crowds, typical of Sochi))

avatar

What does it mean that there is no beach😟? What is the closest beach to this hotel called and how much does it cost?

avatar

Right next to the hotel, across the road is the public JBR beach, which is free to access. You can take an elevator or stairs from the hotel pool down to the beach. Sunbeds are available for a fee, but the hotel provides towels, umbrellas, and beach mats in a beach bag.

avatar

Thank you very much. And could you tell me if there are changing rooms, showers, and a drinking fountain with free water at this beach?

avatar

I think there was, but I can't say for sure, the weather was not beachy, we went to the beach only once.

There is a changing room. A foot shower is free; a body shower - you need to buy a coin for 5 dirhams (2 minutes), there are open and closed shower cabins.

I will share my impressions of the hotel. Overall, no complaints. The staff is well-trained and friendly. Upon check-in, they ask for a small deposit. They are now obliged to do so. There are always Russian-speaking staff at the reception. Additional services (shuttles to malls, visits to other hotels in the Ja network) are not directly offered, but if you ask, everything is possible. We had breakfast/dinner - there is a choice, but like everywhere, after 5-6 days, it becomes repetitive. The rooms are tired, but neat, you can see that they are trying to maintain their standard. The location is excellent for a beach vacation. JBR is 300 meters away. But we went more for walking, sightseeing, and exploring. We used the metro, tram, and bus for transportation.

avatar

Hello. How far is the hotel from the metro?

avatar

The tram is about a 3-minute walk away. The metro is approximately 7-10 minutes away.

Today we arrived, the sea is warm, swimming is comfortable. Upon arrival, they asked for a deposit of 500 dirhams. I offered to pay in dollars (as we are here for a couple of days) because it would be difficult to use the dirhams after checking out. They refused, so I ended up not leaving a deposit. Later I realized that beverages during dinner were not included and it was inconvenient without a deposit. There is no clothes dryer and the water in the shower is cold!!! We called the maintenance three times but it had no effect. They said at the reception that there is a room on the 25th floor as it is, or they can move us to the 7th floor. Thank you very much, I said. Our room class allows access to the executive lounge, so we visited the high tea and happy hour today. We were the only guests))) Amazing views, cozy and peaceful. Let's see what they have for breakfast. For dinner, they served herring under a fur coat and Olivier salad 🤣 By the way, the Rosselkhozbank card works perfectly in the hotel. I upgraded the room upon check-in and paid with the card. Upd: Breakfast is simple with no frills 😅 but you won't go hungry)

avatar

Did they tell you about the 25th floor during the booking or upon check-in? Our tour operator mentioned that our rooms would be on floors 5 to 15 and would be approximately standard.

avatar

I booked a club room, from the 22nd to the 25th, it seems.

avatar

How much did you pay for the tour fee?

80 aed

The hotel provides vouchers for visiting JA Palm Tree Court. This hotel is located near the Jebel Ali Palm. It has a huge area, crystal clear sea, and a beach that stretches for about a kilometer. There is no transfer service available, so guests need to take a taxi on their own.

avatar

It's strange to find out about this on the day of departure. Another negative experience with the hotel service. Every day I come across the fact that they initially say no to any request, only when I insist do they start thinking and taking action. The same thing happened with the laundry, when at 9:05 they said that orders placed before 9 o'clock would be completed on the same day, and the rest on the following day. And with the deposit they insisted on, and so on.

avatar

Today, the male part of our family went to the desert on quads, while my daughter and I went to Palm Three. Honestly, the beach, resembling Anapa, doesn't inspire much enthusiasm. Yes, it is strange that no one talks about it. But I have been to Palm Three many times before, and it is part of the JA network. I asked at the reception, they provide vouchers but no transfers. We moved to another room and while packing, we found a baby bottle in the depths of the bedside table under the TV. This shows the cleanliness standards. It must have been there for at least a week. Overall, the hotel doesn't make much effort. Understandably, it is relatively cheap, but still a 5-star and should meet expectations. The reception is tiny, and two people cannot handle the influx of guests. They once provided a torn towel. Yesterday, the queue for breakfast reached the elevators. But at least it is affordable.

Show all replies in a thread (1)
avatar

I won't even mention the queues for dinner)))) And the club lounge operates on a schedule, not all the time. They serve snacks there for lunch in portions, and they don't offer sodas for breakfast. There aren't many five-star jokes either))) Even a tired hotel can provide good service, but here it's surprising, we've never encountered this in the Emirates. Yes, it definitely doesn't measure up to a 5-star service.

Good afternoon. We just checked out of this hotel. We stayed on the 15th floor. The room was smoke-free, with a beautiful view and a nice beach within walking distance. Every day at 10:00 PM, there was a drone show with a direct view of the sea. The breakfasts were monotonous, so it's better to arrive before 10:20 AM to avoid waiting for a table. Our breakfast was included in the package, so we immediately ordered an omelette from the waiter. I do not recommend the Motorino restaurant. The prices are high, and the food is not good. Be careful with taxis and follow the navigator. We got scammed once and paid 150 dirhams for a 15-minute ride (we used Yandex Taxi, and the payment was made with a linked card). The average bill per person at the nearby cafes is 2500 rubles. We did not have to pay a deposit. The tourist tax is small. In the evening, it is advisable to wear light sneakers and a denim jacket due to windy weather. We were allowed to check-in before 12:00 PM, and we were lucky as the room was available. The standard rooms are located on floors 3 to 15, while the higher floors are of a higher class. We also exchanged dollars at Sberbank and arrived with them. We paid with a Gazprombank card and dirhams.

avatar

Thank you for the feedback. I only accept cash, no cards 😅 Regarding the voucher, what was your room number? Does it not indicate the category? Mine says "Sea View Room," I wonder if it's above the 15th floor 🤭

avatar

All rooms have a sea view.

Good evening. The breakfasts are very good, varied, and delicious. The restaurant is large and we never saw any queues for breakfast. The deposit is 500 dirhams, but for some reason, they didn't take it in November. The tax is small, I don't remember the amount. The deposit is fully refunded in dirhams if you don't order food at the hotel or use the minibar. We didn't come across any smoke-filled rooms. If the room is cleaned properly, there are no odors in the bathroom, although this issue exists. We requested an iron and they brought it along with a ironing board, but we couldn't get rid of it before departure. Most likely, we will choose the hotel again. Everything is positive, except for the lack of a private beach.

avatar

The hotel is not a 5-star, but it's also not up to Hilton standards anymore. The breakfasts are excellent and diverse. There is a large restaurant with plenty of available tables. It is very clean and the waitstaff is attentive. In the evenings, you don't have to search for a place to have dinner. All rooms have balconies that face the sea. The air conditioning works silently and cools down to 18 degrees. We stayed in April and would open the balcony at night when the street noise subsided. There are Russian-speaking girls in the lobby, usually until lunchtime. You can have a delicious lunch by the pool with large portions, enough for two people to share. The coffee and smoothies are tasty. On the first floor, there is a small Italian café with wonderful coffee and cheeses. They bake their own pizza and make sandwiches with freshly baked bread and focaccia. We are satisfied with the hotel, and there are many more pros than cons. The main downside is the lack of a private beach.

avatar

Could you please tell me if there is an option to visit the JA The Resort (JA Lake, JA Beach, JA Palm Tree) hotel complex from the JA Ocean hotel? Is there a shuttle bus that operates to this complex?

avatar

Good day! I won't be able to help you. We haven't inquired about it! But we have never seen any transfers around the hotel.

Is there a transfer from the hotel to the mall? And which beach did you go to, do you not remember the cost?

avatar

We took a taxi, but it is possible to go by metro, which is cheaper. However, if you go to Marina Mall, it is usually more convenient to take a taxi because it is a bit of a walk across the canal. It's interesting how everything is visible from above when you go on excursions. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the entrance of Dubai Mall after exiting the station. We went to the city beach through BlaBla and rented sun loungers and towels by the pool. We didn't buy sunbeds because we usually stayed at the beach until around 11 AM and then headed to the pool. There were a lot of people at the beach during this visit, many of them Indians, sitting in the water with their families, dressed and seemingly bathing at the same time. If you walk to the right past the Hilton along the sea, there is a beautiful stretch of clean sandy beach near Haptoor where we swam. Before the pandemic, the entire coastline from Adressa to Haptoor was like that. Sunbeds are only occupied on weekends by those who want to lie a little further away from the sea.

Can you tell me, is it advantageous to buy excursions at the hotel? Are there any good cafes nearby and how much is the average bill for dinner or lunch? We love Georgian cuisine.

avatar

Hello. We have never taken excursions at the hotel, I don't know if such a service exists. We book online in Russia and pay with a card. We have already been everywhere, so we enjoy the sea, walks, and malls. There is a Georgian cafe where you can experience live music, though not every day. The food is delicious, with kebab, pilaf, and a very tasty Georgian salad made with peeled tomatoes, cucumbers, and a dressing with cilantro. The portions are large, enough for my husband and me. Sometimes the waiters are slow with the service. We would like it to be faster. There is a Uzbek cuisine on the island with a Ferris wheel, very delicious. The prices everywhere are not cheap, but they are lower than at Dubai Mall. We used to have dinner at an Italian restaurant near the Hilton, but this time we had lunch and the food was terrible. There was no crowd at all. It has gotten worse.

Hello. The hotel pool provides towels, sun loungers, and a beach umbrella. We didn't take the umbrella. Last November and April, we went to the beach near the inflatables, and we were surprised by the number of people on the beach and the Indians sitting in the sea. The sea is not very clean. That's why we went to the end of the beach where the planes take off. It was less crowded and the sea was great. The pool is excellent, not deep, with warm water and well-maintained. However, they don't allow reservations for sun loungers. If there aren't many tourists for a long time, they may take away the towels. We've seen it happen. The breakfasts are excellent, but after two weeks, they get boring. In the evenings, there is a buffet dinner for hotel guests for 139 drx, which is very decent and diverse. But we preferred to have dinner in different places. The Georgian restaurant, the Uzbek one with a wheel were quite good. The hotel has some drawbacks - they only changed the sheets after a reminder, and the towels could have been bleached. It's also disappointing that there is no private beach. Everything else is okay. We will probably come again in the spring. The exchange rate has significantly increased the cost. So hotels with beaches will be even more expensive. But at least all the rooms have a sea view. Another downside is the nearby bla bla club, where the music blares until late at night. But it didn't bother us. We just left Dubai today, and we already want to go back.

avatar

We have stayed here three times. The hotel is excellent, the breakfast is superb, and all the rooms have a sea view. There are sunbeds and umbrellas by the pool, and the beach is shared but requires payment.

Hello everyone! I am considering this hotel for a solo trip, sorry in advance for a silly question, but I am flying to the UAE for the first time: what does it mean when the hotel doesn't have its own beach?
