The time for the annual check-up is approaching. This year, my husband and I decided to change our usual clinic in Denver and head to Rochester. Last year, the doctor wasn't too pleased with my husband's test results and recommended consulting specialists at the Mayo Clinic. We've certainly heard a lot about this medical center – it's famous all over the world for a reason. So, we've decided to go there this year. And we’ll also spend a few days in Rochester. We'll change the environment and check on our health. So I selected a few hotels nearby the clinic. In my opinion, the options are quite decent. The image galleries and prices get refreshed with the latest updates regularly. They were last updated on May 09, 2025.

I like this option just as much as the previous one. To be honest, I can't even say which one I would choose. I will probably let my husband decide.
Literally 0.1 miles from Mayo Clinic – perfectly close, just how I like it. By the way, there is a shuttle too. I understand that the clinic has several buildings, so it might come in handy. But we will easily get to the hospital entrance, of course – just need to cross the road.
I like the Courtyard Rochester Mayo Clinic Area even more than the previous hotel in this regard. There is also a living area and sleeping areas, but they are arranged in such a way that the room feels more spacious. And there is a full-size desk – this is really important, as I often work while traveling, and my husband will surely check his email too. There is no full kitchen, but a microwave, kettle, and mini-fridge will be quite enough for us.
I also liked the rooms where the jacuzzi is right next to the bed. But I think my husband is unlikely to agree to such a setup; he won't be in a very romantic mood before the examination. By the way, the showers everywhere are equipped with grab bars. It certainly doesn’t set a very cheerful mood, but everything is thought out for convenience.
First things first – breakfast is included in the price, so I won't have to make coffee and prepare sandwiches in the morning. That's great, especially since I usually don't feel like cooking before visiting doctors.
Right in the hotel, there is a small American cuisine restaurant. Of course, it's not Michelin-starred, but at least I won't have to go anywhere after seeing the doctors – I can quickly grab a bite and head back to my room.
And if I suddenly don't feel like staying in the room, we can go to the pool or the gym. Both options are available here. That's awesome, by the way. Even if the health news isn't great, physical activity is a great way to relieve stress. So, I will still take my workout clothes and swimsuit with me.

The rating of this hotel is slightly worse than the previous ones, but I included it in the selection specifically for those traveling with pets. This time we will be going without our Jun, but we often travel with her, so I always pay attention to this aspect.
This hotel is located further away from the hospital – at a distance of 1 mile. Although I prefer living closer, this doesn’t bother me – it gives us a chance to take a walk. And if we don’t feel like walking or it becomes difficult (sometimes we have different states), we can always take the free shuttle. Such a service is certainly impressive. Plus, the golf courses are very close to the hotel – what better way to spend our free time?
From the photos, they look decent, but in the reviews, it says that sometimes the TV doesn't turn on right away, or the mattresses are too soft. To me, these are trifles. Cleanliness and proximity to the hospital are important. There is a microwave and kettle everywhere, and in the building where pets are accommodated, there is even a full kitchen with a dishwasher. So, even though we are going without a pet, I'm thinking of booking a room there. This way we can not only go to restaurants but also cook something ourselves one of the evenings.
I also liked that the rooms are located in different buildings. The houses are decorated in an old English style – I really love that. And the territory is picturesque – what a great option for relaxation after visiting the doctors?
Nothing unusual, but it has everything we might need. The breakfasts are standard, but at least we don't have to cook ourselves. There is a restaurant on the premises, we will definitely check it out. I'm also pleased with the presence of a pool and a gym – thanks to this, the trip for the examination starts to resemble a vacation more and more.
Overall, a good hotel. Some people say it doesn't match its 4 stars. I'm not very knowledgeable about this, but what is important to me is at a good level here. A good sleep, relaxation, tasty food, and also the opportunity to work out – and all this is within walking distance from a luxurious clinic. I like it!

I liked this hotel for the style of its rooms. They seem quite ordinary – bright, spacious, fairly typical – but they immediately evoke associations with vacation for me. Well, and now I will tell you about the details, of course.
Everything is great here – just 0.3 miles, and we are there. I think we will walk, although there is a free shuttle as well. There are grocery stores and restaurants nearby, so the location is very convenient. The airport is only 17 km away – I plan not to call a taxi, but to book a transfer from the hotel right away.
The style that I refer to as hotel style. It is certainly a matter of taste – some like it, some don't. I love to travel, so it only evokes positive emotions for me. The beds and linens are highly praised in reviews – for me, comfort during sleep is extremely important.
There are various types of rooms, and it is easy to accommodate a family with children. But even without children, I prefer a room with an extra sofa, so there is somewhere to sit besides the bed. I also liked that there is a table with a comfortable chair – in any case, I will have to connect to work processes.
Although this hotel has a rating of only 2 stars, the pool here looks larger than in the previous options. I think it's quite nice for swimming. There is also a small hot tub nearby – this is just perfect for relaxation!
Breakfast is available, served in the form of a buffet. There are two options: American and continental. For my husband and me, it's just the perfect choice: he likes a hearty breakfast in the morning, while I prefer coffee with fresh pastries.
There's also a nice area by the fireplace in the breakfast zone. There are large leather armchairs – I think it would be very cozy to settle in here in the evening, quietly sit, and chat with each other and other guests.
By class and price, this hotel is lower than the previous ones, but I like everything according to reviews and amenities. If that's the case, why pay more?

And completing my selection is another budget-friendly, yet very charming hotel within walking distance to Mayo Clinic. I liked it for its simplicity, convenience, and of course, the price. A great option for living in decent conditions and paying very little.
The distance to the Mayo Clinic is 0.6 miles. It's certainly not next door, but it's quite feasible to walk there in about 15 minutes. However, if we suddenly don't want to walk, we can take a free shuttle to the hospital. It runs daily from Monday to Friday. Most likely, we will have to take advantage of this offer several times.
I won't hide it - everything here is extremely simple. There's no talk of any special design, but the rooms are large, clean, bright, the beds are comfortable, and the bed linens are of good quality. Quite decent for spending a couple of nights while undergoing an examination.
I think the hotel is designed exactly for this kind of demand from guests. Everything here is thought out for people who come for examinations or treatment. The showers have special grab bars and seats, there are wide passages everywhere, and there are separate rooms for people with limited mobility. Some rooms also have mini-kitchens - convenient for preparing a snack at any time of day or night.
My conclusion is this - if you don’t expect much, then it’s quite nice here. And the budget price is a very strong argument, so I personally won't immediately dismiss this option.
To be honest, I was very surprised - I didn't expect the infrastructure in such a simple hotel to be so good. First of all, the pool. Not only is there an adult pool, but also a jacuzzi and even a children's pool with a mushroom and slide. It's great that they understand that often families come for examinations. The little ones will definitely enjoy it here.
Secondly, breakfast. According to the reviews, it's quite decent - with hamburgers, eggs, waffles, and delicious coffee. I cook much simpler at home.
Thirdly, there's a restaurant right at the hotel. I like that you won't have to go anywhere - you can quickly have lunch and dinner and return straight to your room. Nobody knows how the examination will go - what if we don't want to walk for long.
Also, there are several slot machines and exercise equipment. There will be something to distract from worries and to spend a calm evening before seeing the doctors.

First of all, this hotel attracted me, of course, because of its location. But the more reviews I read, the more advantages I found for myself. At the moment, it is one of my favorites.
The distance from the hotel to Mayo Clinic is simply laughable – 0.1 miles. It's literally just across the street. If I have any business in another city, I always try to stay as close as possible. Just in case you forget something or there might be a time when you need to wait – it's convenient to be able to go back to the room at any moment. What surprised me is that despite the proximity to the hospital, there is a free shuttle service from the hotel, and there are maps everywhere. I appreciate such care for people – it's especially valuable when you don't feel very well.
I can't say that it's something very impressive – after all, it's a 3-star hotel. But judging by the reviews and photos, it's clean and quite cozy here. Guests praise the view from the windows. The sizes of the rooms are small, but for the two of us, it's more than enough. I really liked the studios – there is a separate bedroom area and a living room with a sofa – I don’t like sitting on the bed in outdoor clothes, so it will be nice to have a place to sit. And, of course, there's a kitchenette. There is a kettle, microwave, small fridge – if we get really tired after the doctors, we can have a snack right in the room. I appreciate that opportunity very much.
I didn't expect anything special from the hotel near the hospital, but unexpectedly there is a pool and even a jacuzzi. I think it will be nice to swim after the stress I've been through (I hate doctors!). I was also pleased with the barbecue area – when we finish with the examinations, we can celebrate with a dinner outdoors.
Breakfasts are included in the price. The buffet may not be very rich, but being able to quickly eat hot food in the morning (that you didn't have to cook yourself) is really important. And another big plus – airport transfer. This is mega-important for me – I love being met and not having to worry about anything.
A good option for coming for an examination or visiting relatives in the hospital, and in the evening relaxing in the pool or grilling barbecue.
