I decided to spend a week strolling around Istanbul and catch some sun rays at the end of the season. The weather in October is still fantastic. We even managed to take a day trip to the Asian side of Istanbul and swim in the Sea of Marmara, with water temperature at 21 degrees Celsius. The hotel is nice, very beautiful inside and full of character. The breakfasts were also good, but we were walking so much that we didn't have time to eat and it lasted us until the evening. However, the cafes in the city are very expensive; you can have a meal for 2 rubles per person, plus a 1% tax included in the bill. The hotel is located near the Blue Mosque and we had a view of the Sea of Marmara, but there was also wholesale sales and the Grand Bazaar nearby, which annoyed us with the amount of trash and boxes, like the former Cherkizovsky market. We visited Hagia Sophia, but you'll have to stand in line for about two hours, it's free until 224 AD, there's not much to see though. But it's worth going to the Topkapı Palace with the harem, although the price for tourists is 95 liras, while for locals it's 25 liras, quite expensive indeed. There are many beautiful mosques outside, and they are all very beautiful. We took a four-hour boat ride along the Bosphorus, the wind was simply breathtaking, but the views were unreal, you'll see the bridge from Turkish TV series and the Maiden's Tower. The Bosphorus itself is dirty, with lots of ships, while the Sea of Marmara is similar to the Black Sea with small jellyfish and seaweed. We walked across the bridge to Taksim Square, there's nothing special there, on the way you can stop by the Galata Tower and the umbrella street. In the evening, we walked along the seafront near the hotel. The metro in Istanbul is not as beautiful as in Moscow and has an odor, the walls where there are no tiles in the carriages, it's better to take the tram. You need to buy an Istanbul card from a vending machine at the tram stop for 7 liras, and then the trip will cost 15 liras per person, instead of 3 liras, but you can only top up the card with 5 liras, so when the balance runs out, you'll have to buy a new card and add money to it again. The three of us traveled on one card, as it allows smooth passage. I recommend visiting the Balat district, where the Old Believers live, women in hijabs and men with canes and fezzes - you'll definitely feel the Turkish atmosphere. The trip turned out to be very interesting, it's always enlightening to experience the life of another nation, but once is enough, and I don't recommend doing it during turbulent times. There were protests at the airport, and upon arrival, the carrier Tyle Wind did not deliver our baggage, neither to us nor to Pegasus. We had to go back to Vnukovo again after a day for our luggage.

The hotel is alright. The lobby is decorated in a retro style. The location is good but it's difficult for taxis to approach due to narrow streets and traffic. The standard room is small. Our window had a view of an inner shaft, but it didn't bother us as we didn't come to look out the window. We stayed for 2 nights, which was perfectly fine. The breakfasts are decent, with enough variety, although there were no omelets, only boiled eggs. However, there were warm vegetables. If you're looking for sightseeing, this hotel is located within walking distance to attractions. The only thing is that we relied on Google Maps to find our way back.
