Good day. We returned today from this hotel. It's worth going if you plan purely a beach holiday. The beach is clean and empty, it's convenient that it's just a couple of steps away. But if you want to go for a walk, keep in mind that it's a 15-20 minute walk along the road without a sidewalk or along the beach, which is hard to endure in the sun, i.e. you either have lunch in the hotel restaurants that are 2-3 times more expensive than elsewhere, or with food from the supermarket in your room. And in the evening, returning on foot in the dark is not an option, only by taxi. What else I want to note is that the breakfasts are not bad, but we overslept and arrived at 9:30. Half of the dishes were already gone and no one was planning to replenish them (I remind you, this is a five-star hotel). In the room on the first day everything was fine, but afterwards they didn't replenish either the toiletries or even toilet paper, only after two separate requests did they start replenishing daily (I remind you, five stars). In other respects, the territory is nice, the rooms are decent, albeit worn out, and we only saw a cockroach on the day of departure.
Good afternoon. We are already here. Check-in is strictly from 3:00 PM. Don't forget sunscreen. The sea is not calm, red flags. The hotel is a bit worn out, once it sparkled, but if you don’t nitpick too much, it's fine. The breakfasts are monotonous, but there is a choice, even something from the chef, a lot of Indian cuisine. Seasonal fruits - pineapple, papaya, guava, watermelon, melon, banana, salak, and others. No mango. The sea is wonderful, the beach is clean (even though it's municipal), if you get too playful in the waves - they whistle. On both sides of the hotel, two little rivers flow into the sea. We didn't catch any smell, but it's not very pleasant. There's a pipe sticking out closer to the mountain in the sea, it says it's a desalination plant. Be careful with prices at the hotel, they add tax and service when settling the bill, prices are not friendly. I recommend walking to the city along the beach, a relaxed stroll at sunset - 15 minutes and you are at the Karona circle.
I stayed at the hotel for three weeks from September 13 to October 6. I chose it because it is close to the sea and has good reviews. I did not regret it. The area is large with many buildings + nearby on the hill there are villas. It’s very beautiful: paths, greenery, trees with labels. Along the path, there's a small stream with fish. At night, frogs croak. I saw monitor lizards on the property several times. The standard room is spacious with a large terrace and a sea view. The room has everything you need: air conditioning, TV, shower, bathtub, tea set, bottles of water, minibar, large wardrobes, safe. There are basic toiletries: soap, shampoo, gel, hairdryer, bathrobes, shower caps, hygiene bags. The room is cleaned every day, everything is very clean and tidy. In the first few days, there was a lot of humidity in the room: the windows were constantly fogged up and there was condensation on the floor, it was slippery - the cleaning staff covered the floor with towels until the humidity went away. Regarding food: breakfasts are rich, with a large selection. In October, around 9 AM, lines began to appear to enter the dining room (not everyone had enough tables). The hotel has its own application where you can order room service and chat with the reception if necessary. Lunch/dinner at the local Italian restaurant is very expensive, and the choice of dishes is mediocre. For example, one dish costs about 450 baht. Drinks are not cheap either. The food is tasty. There is a fitness room on the property with a decent set of equipment and a spa. Massages at the spa are several times more expensive than at massage salons in the city. In the city, a full body oil massage costs 600 baht, here it’s 2400 baht (with a discount!). There are two pools: one (smaller) is for adults only. Overall, it’s fine. Regarding the sea: there are many access points to the beach, it's a 3-minute walk from the building. But the beach is municipal, and it is not cleaned. There are no lifeguards. After storms, dirt washed ashore - it was unpleasant to walk. I saw cleaning happening at Kata, but not here. On the left and right of the hotel, two streams flow into the sea. Accordingly, they carry out everything that goes into them. To be honest, it’s not very pleasant. I went swimming closer to the ring. There are red flags all over the beach due to many rip currents, so you need to be very careful. A couple more words about the location: the hotel is somewhat isolated, a bit off the beaten path. There is no normal road to the city: you either walk along the road or wade through the river on the beach. Whenever I called a taxi through Bolt, it was always 250-300 baht (Patong/Kata/other end of Karona, the ring). The nearest 7/11, currency exchange, or pharmacy is about a 15-20 minute walk - in the rain or under the scorching sun. Because of this, next time I will choose a hotel in the city on the road.

We stayed at this hotel in early March 2023. Overall, we really liked everything. We were greeted with smiles and refreshing drinks. We checked in immediately and, as booked, into a room with a pool. A deposit of $500 was taken. It is needed to use all hotel services and not worry about cash; all expenses will be charged to your account and settled upon departure. We paid with baht at checkout, and they returned our $500. Everything in the room works fine, all necessary bathroom amenities were provided. The room was cleaned every day, and drinking water was always plentiful. The mosquito coils we brought were very helpful—without them, you would be eaten alive. The pools are clean, there is a slide, and a lazy river with little waterfalls where you can float. Karon Beach is magnificent ❤️ not crowded, the sea is warm, clean, and the sand squeaks under your feet.
The hotel is excellent, we had a room by the sea with a jacuzzi. The rooms are spacious, and the grounds are also large, with pools, sun loungers, slides, aqua-aerobics, spa, etc. There are two restaurants - one expensive and one average in terms of taste. In the morning, the breakfasts are great and very diverse. The beach is the best in Karon and empty. Sometimes there are discos from the 90s organized by our people there. There is also a modest but decent cafe. Everything else is about a kilometer away. It's perfect for families with children and couples as well. Solo travelers may find it a bit boring, but it's fine if you have a bike. 👌

Top 5 tips for your stay at Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket SHA Plus+
We are going in March, questions about mosquitoes, do we need to take a fumigator, and what about the animation here?
We were there in March 2023, using the coil insect repellent in the room because there were mosquitoes immediately upon check-in. We didn't use any other means. But we were on the first floor by the pool. Perhaps the experience is better on higher floors. We didn't see any animation at all.) and whether it is needed there..
Is there a deposit at the hotel?
There is
how much?
Unfortunately, I don't remember exactly, but it seems that it's $500.. 2000 baht per night.
for the room at least, not per person?))))
For the room. This is so you can use the bars/restaurants, everything will be charged to your room account. But upon check-out, we paid in baht and they returned our $$
For the room
Do they accept dollars?
They accept cash in baths and in $. They return according to hotel rules only in baths, but they returned dollars to us.
I understand, thank you very much, we just didn't plan to spend at the hotel - they say it's very expensive))
Yes, it's a bit pricey )) If anything, you can pay at the hotel restaurant right away in cash, without charging it to your room. There is a cafe by the beach near the hotel where many people eat; it's ordinary, but tasty.
Are the prices reasonable, or like in the hotel?)))) I also looked at the maps on Google, and it seems like the night market is not far; how NOT FAR is it? My husband is disabled, and it's difficult for him to walk long distances.
The price is reasonable. Of course, there might be slightly cheaper options in the market and there are supermarkets, but it's inconvenient to go there, either along the road where cars drive, and there's a section without a pedestrian walkway, or along the beach, but sometimes the water floods there and it's difficult to pass.
Yes, 2000 baht per night
Hello! Could you please tell me if there is an elevator in the 4-story buildings?
Yes, all buildings have 4 floors and they have elevators.
Hello. Tell me about mosquitoes )) I'm afraid of their fever, we are planning a vacation with children. And is there a children's room at the hotel, what is it like?
Good afternoon. I sprayed everyone with repellent against mosquitoes from Komarov, and separately sprayed clothes with a mosquito spray. There is a fumigator in the room from evening till morning. There is a children's room, but I didn't like it very much. The children are mostly at the pool, in the evening at the beach.
Please tell me what is near the hotel that I can go to?
We only went to the beach. But there are also food markets and restaurants and a good pharmacy there! Towards the center, near the hotel, there are several cafes, we ate there... well, it was okay. And we also ate at the market, it was so-so. Since we stayed in Patong, we had dinner and went to discos there. And there is also a flea market with souvenirs. They bargained hard there! We bought a lot of things for very good prices.
