Wow, this hotel is very stylish! Here are modern white villas, set amidst the lush greenery of a beautiful garden. It is very elegantly and beautifully decorated in the style of East Africa. I liked that there is an "all-inclusive" system, which is simply the perfect option for family travel. I don’t like to count money for every ice cream, and this option allows me to relax and pay for everything in advance.

The hotel offers several accommodation options: there are standard rooms in the common area and villas closer to the ocean. The second option provides a special level of comfort. When I first stayed in one, I realized that even those one hundred meters separating the room on the front line from the beach villa play a huge role. At Diamonds Mapenzi Beach, there is a beach villa with a private pool. It can accommodate up to three people and is small, just like the pool. It is more suitable for dipping in a few times before moving to a sunbed and enjoying the amazing nature around. The area is separated by a live hedge, but it is not completely enclosed, so you can see guests from neighboring similar villas – there are only three of them.

An all-inclusive hotel generally cannot offer few amenities, as the main essence is that you can find everything you desire on the premises. Here, too: three restaurants, two bars, and a spa are the main places where my husband and I plan to spend time after swimming at the beach and in the pool! 

I liked that all the rooms, not just in the villas, have their own patio. The direct access to the outdoors, rather than a shared corridor, creates a completely different feeling of unity with nature. 

When you stay in one hotel for several days, a lot can become monotonous, so I enjoy it when different entertainment options are also offered. For example, one of the restaurants hosts themed evenings, and the water sports center organizes sports events. This is something my husband and son will enjoy. By the way, you can also go on a safari from here. I think we will go!

Exceptional hotel and service at a reasonable price! For me, a wide clean beach, delicious food, and evening entertainment are important. And, of course, a comfortable villa with a private pool. I'm already mentally there, swimming before breakfast first in the pool, then in the sea, and then returning to the villa to wake up my family!

Before adding a hotel to the selection, I always read the reviews, and I was quite intrigued when I saw "the best accommodation we have ever stayed in," "the service was the best we have ever encountered" - from several people at once! There is a small private beach here, a stunning infinity pool, and magnificent villas with private pools. Beautiful😍

If there is a choice and the opportunity to book a room with my own pool, I will always do it. Because it creates the impression that you are on your own private island! Its availability is noted in many categories here. I would recommend booking a double room with a pool, or a double room of "Premium" category or a family "Deluxe". The pools are small, but it's very pleasant to sit in them with a book or enjoy the view of the sea.

One of my favorite details in beach hotels is the bike rental. Here it is free, and it's a very nice bonus. I love riding and exploring the surroundings, especially at sunset or early in the morning when the sun is not so hot yet.

It is nice that all rooms have a patio with a view of the garden, even if it's the no-pool option. The rooms are decorated in authentic African style: to imagine such a kitschy place in Europe would be completely impossible. All the beds are covered with mosquito nets, which looks impressive! But I always find it too stuffy to sleep in those, so I hope there are other insect repellent measures available here.

Pongwe Beach Hotel has very high reviews, and guests particularly like the location, staff, comfort, and cleanliness. I would also add that I highlighted the design of the beach area: the sun loungers are not arranged in a row, as is usually the case, but grouped in pairs and positioned at a distance from another pair, creating a very pleasant sense of privacy.

Bungalows Marafiki – pure charm! These small cozy houses are located right on the seashore and are built in the architectural style of Zanzibar. I know I would take a dozen photos here! The roofs are made of dried palm leaves, and all the furniture is assembled in local factories. Very interesting and colorful. I have great respect for hotels that emphasize their culture rather than trying to imitate Western models. Even the fabrics in the color of the ocean are woven on original looms!🤩

Among the categories, there is a junior suite with its own pool – this is exactly what I was looking for! But the pool, to be honest, is very small here. In previous hotels, it was small, but here it is just tiny. You can't swim in it at all – this basin is suitable only for dipping. Unfortunately. But the terrace offers a stunning view of the sea, and the cottage itself is very beautiful both inside and out. I would recommend ordering breakfast on your terrace to fully enjoy the solitude.

The hotel is located on the first line, right on the beach. I liked that the rooms have a shower on the terrace – it’s so atmospheric! You feel like you’re in the jungle, but after a shower, you take a couple of steps, wrap yourself in a cozy robe, and you’re back in a luxurious hotel! The restaurant serves dishes from African and European cuisine. It’s good that there are options because while I will try the local food, I will want something more familiar. By the way, the restaurant has a view of the ocean and the pool, which makes the food taste better – tested!

I have the impression that Marafiki Bungalows is a hotel for people who love a peaceful and secluded vacation (or are simply so tired that they have no energy for anything else!). It is very cozy here, with a relaxed atmosphere, rooms with a beautiful view, and very beautiful. It is a paradise for walks, swimming, stunning photos, and lounging on the beach with a book in hand. We all need such a vacation sometimes.😉

Usually, beach hotels are huge buildings or expansive areas by the sea, with hundreds of guests. But this is not the case with Next Paradise Boutique Resort. It is quite small and very cozy! I liked the interior more than in several previous options in the selection, and the stay includes breakfast and dinner.

The hotel features a long shared pool right in front of the beach bungalows. You step out of the cottage – and you are at the pool. It's an indescribable feeling, but still, it's not a private pool! Only luxury suite guests have the opportunity to step out of their room and dive into a private water feature where there will be no outsiders. This room is designed for two, but there are significantly more sun loungers here: everything is thought out, so there's no need to move the sunbed from one place to another, just change your seat.

The hotel is small, so there are not many available spots here. I love it when there is no crowd: then there are fewer lines at breakfast, and more dishes remain until the very end, although it all depends on how the amount of food is calculated. Not everyone likes a buffet, so here you can order an individual breakfast, which will be brought to the table. The restaurant serves African cuisine, and while I love trying new things, I’m not sure that such dishes will appeal to my children. I would prefer to see alternatives in the form of typical American or European dishes, such as pizza or burgers. These are universal options that almost everyone loves. The staff works very hard to meet all requests and wishes as quickly as possible – in such places, you feel that you are cared for, and that is very nice. 

I think this option would be perfect for a honeymoon, but it is unlikely that it would appeal to my family of four. Not everything here will please the children and, perhaps, they may get bored. Moreover, the price for accommodation, considering that it's only 4*, is very high. But there is a villa with a private pool here, so the hotel certainly deserves a spot in my selection!

I decided that my selection was lacking hotels on the east coast of Zanzibar, and so I found The Sands Beach Resort. This resort right by the sea with a large green area captured my heart! I was pleasantly surprised that there is a surfing school here and a diving center. My husband can't be dragged away from places like this.

The hotel has a large 25-meter shared pool in the middle of the property, which is very convenient. In some rooms, specifically in the two-bedroom villas, there is a private pool. I liked that it is surrounded by green bushes, so my family and I will be alone here. The pool consists of two parts: one is more like a swimming pool, deep and for swimming, while the other is shallow, perfect for sitting or playing for children. It would be just right for my daughter. Of course, you can't swim here for long, but it's perfect for refreshing yourself. However, the pool is directly in the sun, with nothing to block it, so there is a risk of getting burned.

The rooms and villas are decorated in Moorish style and are very beautiful, with the essence of East Africa felt throughout. The territory is large, and there will definitely be plenty to do for the whole family and for those who are resting as a couple. We haven't decided yet whether to go as a couple or with children, so I am considering all options. This hotel is more for active people rather than those who just want to lie on the beach. I once tried surfing, but I didn't practice much, and here, I think I would take a couple of lessons to hone my skills and do some sports.

I read in the reviews that the hotel has especially amazing carpaccio – it's worth trying! And in general, this is the perfect place for a peaceful and comfortable rest. I really liked this option. I'm adding it to my wish list!
