The only white sparkling wine in the hotel. I'm not much of an expert on it, but I liked it, and so did my wife. I couldn't find it in Russian online stores.

We had a room on the 3rd floor with an ocean view in the right wing. It was perfect for us: the view is stunning, and besides the ocean and birds, there is no noise at all. The amenities were standard: a bed, a sofa bed, a closet, a dresser, a TV, a thing for suitcases and shoes, nightstands, a kettle, tea, coffee, and more. A mini-bar in the fridge. On the balcony, there is a table and chairs, a drying rack. The bathroom had everything standard: a shower, two sinks, a hairdryer, a magnifying mirror, a toilet with a bidet. The hotel has a stunning green territory. There are no usual corridors, as in Riu, they are open and you can see greenery, birds, and white. Someone watches monkeys every morning. I wouldn't say the hotel is bad. During the day, there are various aqua aerobics by the pool, sports games. But we were on the beach (the so-called one), in the shade, under the palms. In the pool area, there are many people and it's stuffy. Oh, and in the Flamingo bar at 5:00 PM, they play bingo. We didn't even turn on the TV once. And we spent a minimum of time in the room. We visited 3 à la carte restaurants, Italian twice). In general, there is live music every day, plus there are local shows or entertainment on stage. We returned from the hotel today, and we are impressed with the service. The cleaning was excellent, even without dollars and rupees, the room was spotless. In 7 nights, they changed the bed linen 4 times, towels were changed every day. In the bar and restaurant, you barely finish drinking your wine before they refill it. The grounds are clean, everything is tidy, the food is delicious, there are no queues. We visited the à la carte Kaori two times and the Italian restaurant once; you can visit as much as you want...

The food is normal, especially if you don't compare it to Turkish 5* and don't expect black caviar for breakfast and sturgeon for dinner. The grilled fish is tasty, fruit pancakes are very delicious... and many other things. A-la-carte restaurants are excellent 👍 The ocean is not for swimming, in any season! There are always big waves, you can't go far in. Children should not even swim near the shore, the current is strong. We jumped on the waves, we liked it)) but, again, we didn't go too far. Everything is great here. Last year we were in Aralii, the service was worse. Here, the only downside is there's nowhere to go, hardly any shops/stores. But here we have excellent pools, there is entertainment. Aqua aerobics, volleyball, evening shows.

Our vacation at RIU is coming to an end, we really like everything, the food, the service, the only downside is some guests, I don't know where they come from, about 15 people in a group, just awful, they drink, shout in the pool, in the restaurant it's like a market... but overall everything is very decent. The lagoon is magnificent, we went there around half past three twice a day and in the morning from 8 to 10:30. I highly recommend a guy, we found him at the barrier and ended up going everywhere with him. His name is Obama, he speaks Russian well, very pleasant, not intrusive, has a nice car, we went to Galle and Hikkaduwa with him. The only thing is, I would never stay with a sea view again, we go to bed early around 9:30 p.m., the entertainment is honestly terrible, they sing very loudly, or rather, shout, and drums, this show has been going on for three days, it's just a nightmare, impossible to sleep, it's like they're in the room. There are always waves near the hotel. All year round.

And the lagoon turned out to be not far away at all and it's really nice there... by tuk-tuk 2-3 minutes, walking 34 minutes in a meditative mode, because the views are just stunning... certainly in the morning or evening. For me, it was a special kind of pleasure. There is a bit of litter in the lagoon, there are sunbeds and umbrellas (for a fee)... you can do without them quite easily. We were deeply offended by Cinnamon, as well as by the tour operator... and Riu is excellent!

It has waves, but if you swim to the area without waves, you can swim peacefully in silence. Many people go to the lagoon and enjoy it there. The entertainers are not very active - only two games and two dances per day, plus water aerobics. Drones and speakers are prohibited in the hotel. I like the Spanish Riu chain. They have a great hotel in the Dominican Republic as well. The main thing is to understand what you're comparing it with. The entertainment here is naturally not like in Turkey, but overall it's great! It's difficult to find a hotel of this level in Sri Lanka. Future tourists will be satisfied. It is very possible to swim on the beach of this hotel! The waves are a lot of fun. And if you want to swim in calm water, tuk-tuks are available right by the beach and they can take you to the lagoon (a 3-minute ride) and pick you up at your desired time for only 2 dollars.

Beautiful beach is located on the right side of the hotel: gentle water entrance, sandy.
