If we go to Barcelona in the warm season, I would like to stay at a hotel with an outdoor pool! Abba Garden is just the right option, as the outdoor pool operates here from the end of March to the end of October. I think the children will also enjoy this entertainment after visiting the doctors. And the location is simply perfect for our purposes!

Abba Garden is located in a very convenient place for those who, like us, come to visit the hospital. Just cross the street – and we are at San Joan De Deu! No need for a taxi or a bus, just take a few steps. And if there is a gap between appointments or examinations, you can return to the hotel to rest. The nearest metro station is about a 10-minute walk. I think we won't be going to the city center often, but maybe we will do it one of these days. And the "Camp Nou" stadium is also not far from here; you can get there by taxi or bus.

The location and the pool are the main advantages of this hotel for me. There is also a gym, a garden area where you can take a walk, and a padel tennis court. Sitting on the terrace, we will order snacks or drinks. I think if the weather is nice, my sister and I will put the kids to bed and enjoy some time alone. By the way, regarding the rooms, a triple room or a representative double room with extra beds would be suitable for a family with children. The standard double room would be a bit cramped for four people. There is also a family room for four people, so everyone will have their own bed. It's very convenient if the kids are not little anymore. The price for all options is quite reasonable.

Even in the reviews, it is mentioned that this hotel is excellently located for visiting the children's hospital! I have no doubts about that. It's a great option. From the pool area, you can see the mountains, but they say that there are not always enough sun loungers. By the way, this hotel is often frequented by doctors who come on business trips to the hospital.

Hesperia Barcelona Sant Just – a large and stylish hotel. I liked it immediately when I saw that the lobby, bar, and headboards were designed in green – that is my favorite color. It also caught my attention that there is a spa center and a beautiful view of the city and the hills of Barcelona.

The hotel is located east of the San Joan de Deu hospital, which is a little further from the center. It is very convenient to get there: by car, it takes only 9-10 minutes, and the distance is 4 km. You could take the bus (the 78th goes to the hospital), which would take about 20 minutes, but with kids, we're unlikely to entertain ourselves that way. A taxi is the fastest and most convenient option. Overall, I liked the location: 15 minutes to the city center, close to the airport, and 400 meters from Mercadona (a large grocery store).

We will need a family room because we are traveling with two children. I think I would choose a standard double room with an extra bed. The room is not very spacious, it's more expensive than the previous option, but you can see the hills from the window! In this room, breakfast is included in the price, which is exactly what we need.

The most important thing for us is that the beds have good mattresses so we can get a good night's sleep, and that it is quiet in the hotel. According to the reviews, we shouldn't worry about this. There is even a pillow menu so you can choose between softer or firmer options! It's convenient that we don't have to bring our favorite pillow with us.

It's great that the hotel has a gym and a spa center with a pool. We will be going to the hospital in the mornings, and we also want to spend our time in a good way. We probably won't walk much around the city, but we also don't want to sit in the room, so the spa is the perfect option for me. The gym is large, and it's not just machines, but also rooms for group classes, crossfit, and cycling. Awesome!

The hotel seems like an ideal option for staying near the hospital! Yes, it may not be quite suitable for tourists who plan to visit the city center every day. But we don't have that goal, and being located near the airport is also a plus. It will be very comfortable here with children as well.

The third hotel, Hotel Madanis, made it into my selection despite its unremarkable exterior. However, I liked its affordability: it’s almost twice as cheap as the previous option! The rooms, by the way, are quite nice and cozy, but I didn't like the interior of the common areas and the restaurant. But that’s not always so important.

The hotel is located 2 km from the San Joan de Deu hospital, which is closer than the previous one, although it may take a little longer to get there: 14-15 minutes by car and 17 minutes by V1 bus. On foot – half an hour. Next to the hotel is the famous stadium of the FC Barcelona – Camp Nou. It might be noisy here on match days, but I would definitely take the kids to the stadium museum, so this location seems optimal to me.

The hotel does not have any special amenities. There is a massage room, but the space felt uncomfortable to me. There is an underground parking lot, but it is paid. Judging by the reviews, it is clean here, with a convenient bathroom, good toiletries and towels, a large comfortable solid bed, excellent air conditioning, and bottled water in the room. I was also pleased to find out that there is a direct metro line to the airport, and check-in is quick and can be done earlier – convenient if we arrive on a morning flight.

Among the inconveniences - there are no slippers and a kettle. I would like to have some tea in the evening! But I was pleased that breakfast is included and there is a set lunch. This is not a luxurious hotel, but it is very reasonable and of good quality for a fair price, so I do not complain about anything and think that it will be suitable for our stay.

Another great hotel with an outdoor pool! I liked that there are many amenities here, there will definitely be things to do on the premises if you don't want to go anywhere: for example, there is a spa and a new fitness center. 

The distance to the hospital is about 2 km, by car it takes 10-11 minutes, by bus without transfers (the V1 line) 19 minutes, and on foot 25 minutes. Nearby are the "Camp Nou" stadium, the train station, and Spain Square. So the hotel is conveniently located for trips to the center and for visiting the hospital. The metro is close, there are small shops, and the area itself is quiet and calm. Just what we need for rest and doctor visits.

For example, it has an outdoor pool (which is only open during warm weather), a fitness center, a terrace, and a bar, and the front desk is open 24/7, so check-in can be done at night. I was pleased to find a kettle in the room  (one of the previous hotels in the selection didn’t have it, and that is important). Breakfast is included in the price, but it can be paid for separately, and among the dishes on the buffet there are many gluten-free options, but the menu does not change. Spa visits are charged separately, one visit lasts 1.5 hours, and I think I would go at least once, although reviews say that it doesn't quite meet expectations. 

This is the most budget-friendly hotel in my selection! For a family with children, I would choose a triple room and add an extra bed, or a family room if the children are older. However, the family room is significantly more expensive.

The hotel looks gloomy from the outside, and at first, I wasn't planning to include it in the selection, but then I looked at the rooms and realized that the first impression is misleading. The rooms are cozy and nice, and the hotel itself is very conveniently located for visiting the hospital, so I decided to include it here.

The hotel is only 1.5 kilometers from the San Joan de Deu hospital, and the most convenient way to get there is by taxi in 5 minutes, or a few bus stops – that takes 9 minutes. Walking is also an option, just 18 minutes, but the path goes along the ring road, so I don't think it's very pleasant to stroll there. This is the outskirts of Barcelona, but there are many cafes nearby, and there is a gas station and a market. Barcelona Airport is also not far away; if the roads are clear, you can get there by car in 15-20 minutes. I was thinking about what to do in my free time and saw that the Pedralbes Monastery is located just 250 meters away. I had never heard of it before, but now there's a reason to drop by!

I noticed the cozy and warm interior of the hotel: the soft blue-brown tones combined with orange create a very pleasant impression. It's convenient that there is an iron in the room! Usually, it’s either not available, or you have to ask at the reception. However, I don’t think we will need it. There is a Catalan cuisine restaurant at the hotel, which also serves breakfast. There is also a spa center available for an additional fee. I would happily go to the sauna, swim in the indoor pool, or take an aromatherapy shower. You can order a massage. According to reviews, another pleasant feature of the hotel is the amazing atmosphere created by its staff.

A good hotel with a quiet garden on the premises. I see that there is an opportunity to get a good night's sleep before the doctor's visit and to relax in my free time, either by going to the spa or taking a stroll in the garden. However, I was surprised by the price per night at this hotel: it is higher than in previous options and, in my opinion, undeserved.
