Oh yes, my vacation is finally coming! And this time I will fulfill my long-time dream - I am going on a month-long trip to Portugal! I will visit several cities and at the end, I will spend a week in Porto. They say it is the most beautiful Portuguese city, preserving the charm of the Middle Ages.

Of course, all of this is very costly, so I will save on accommodation. I am not too finicky and can easily afford to stay in a three-star hotel. My main criterion is the breakfast included in the price of accommodation. First, there is no need to spend time in the morning searching for a café, traveling, etc., and second, it is also a kind of saving!

I searched thoroughly and considered all available options in the city. The result of my search is this selection of the top 5 decent 3-star hotels with breakfast in Porto. I recommend taking a look; I put a lot of effort into it! The image galleries and prices get refreshed with the latest updates regularly. They were last updated on December 06, 2024.

This hotel has three stars, but its appearance captivated me at first sight. A real castle in the center of Porto! Seriously! Take a look at the hotel's photos and you'll understand why I say this! Yes, it takes a bit of a walk to get to the attractions, but here it is inexpensive, there are wonderful breakfasts, and a very friendly atmosphere.

Dining

The reviews highly praise the local breakfasts, especially the pastries! Don't tell anyone, but buns are my weakness... It's for this reason alone that I'm ready to choose this hotel

Hotel Rooms

I recommend booking the most popular room with a terrace, it’s worth it! But the other options are also very good: with a huge bed, air conditioning, and a beautiful view from the windows.

Advantages

Reasonable price, very beautiful hotel building and grounds, hearty and varied breakfasts, courteous staff.

Disadvantages

A bit far from the waterfront, but if you’re not deterred by walks, then it’s a wonderful option

I included this hotel in my selection because of the wonderful value for money. It is located in a very convenient place, not in the city center, but on one of the cozy quiet streets of Porto. Here, there are delicious fresh breakfasts, comfortable rooms, and very friendly staff! Plus, this hotel seemed somehow homey to me, and judging by the reviews, there really is a warm home atmosphere here.

Dining

Wonderful breakfasts made from local products: pastries, eggs, yogurts, fruits, and vegetables. Everyone especially praises the freshly squeezed orange juice! There are many authentic cafes and restaurants near the hotel that are more popular with locals than tourists. I love places like that. And would I have visited them if it weren't for this hotel?!

Hotel rooms

The rooms are certainly small, but homely and cozy. Each room has its own bathroom, a large bed, and air conditioning. There is a steep staircase leading to the second floor, so if you are not very athletic, book the first floor!

Advantages

Close to the center, you can walk or take a taxi. Wonderful hosts, with whom you can get to know and consult on any issue. Delicious breakfasts, no noise outside the window.

Disadvantages

Of course, in such a small hotel, ideal soundproofing is not possible. One just needs to be prepared for this. Also, the bathroom here is not very comfortable. But, in my opinion, these are just small things.

This hotel is the perfect combination of beach and city vacation! The highlight is the rooftop pool, where you can sunbathe and swim, as well as the proximity to the beach. But, of course, I was also attracted by the free breakfasts, which, according to reviews, are quite decent here!

Dining

The breakfasts here are not very diverse, but they are good: eggs, fresh pastries, fruits, juices, and cereals. Perhaps those who follow a healthy diet may not feel very comfortable here. But what a wonderful bar by the pool, everyone praises the drinks, especially the local port wine!

Rooms in the hotel

The rooms are standard, without frills. However, inside there is everything necessary: air conditioning, mini-bar, refrigerator, television, table, and a large bed. And most importantly - it is always very clean here! The hotel pays careful attention to this.

Advantages

Luxurious open-air rooftop pool that is accessible all year round, as well as an outdoor café with panoramic views. There is even a fitness center here. And the biggest advantage - the hotel is just a 5-minute walk from Ingleses beach, where you can have a great time!

Disadvantages

The hotel's location is not suitable for walking around the city, but it is excellent for a beach holiday. You can reach the city center by transport in about 15-20 minutes, and I'm there! The breakfast here is not as plentiful as in other hotels.

A pleasant hotel in a historic building near the city center. The interiors here are very beautiful, there is a nice courtyard and a lovely place for breakfast. Honestly, it looks at least like 4 stars! And, of course, I was promised a varied delicious breakfast and freshly brewed coffee here!

Dining

Breakfasts here are really diverse: freshly squeezed juices, fruits, vegetables, omelets, buns, and pancakes. Moreover, you can place a special order. And if I decide to leave before breakfast is ready, I will definitely be offered a snack to take with me on the road. Such care is very pleasant to me. Tea and coffee are available throughout the day. I can already imagine sipping an Americano in the wonderful garden of the hotel!

Hotel Rooms

The rooms in the hotel are very bright and spacious, visually pleasing to the eye! Daily cleaning takes place, and the staff will promptly resolve any issues that arise. And almost all rooms have a very large bathroom! I like this; I love light and space.

Advantages

Very beautiful historic hotel building, pleasant breakfasts, friendly staff, convenient location - you can walk to the center. It is worth noting the authentic interiors and the beautiful garden. Such things are rarely found in three-star hotels.

Disadvantages

There is no elevator in the hotel, please keep this in mind when booking a room. Poor sound insulation, and it can be noisy outside at night.

I am finishing my selection with another three-star hotel in the city center. It is suitable for those who want to feel like a special guest, have breakfast in luxurious interiors, and fully immerse themselves in the 19th century!

Dining

Very nutritious breakfasts in a magnificent historical hall, served by waiters in special vintage uniforms. The table setting is also unique: here I am greeted with luxurious vintage tableware and cutlery, beautiful fabric napkins, tablecloths, and other royal details. On the hotel grounds, the restaurant D. Pedro II operates - a wonderful place to enjoy delicious wine before heading out to explore the city. It is worth noting that there are also many cafes, restaurants, and even nightclubs nearby. There will be no time to get bored!

Hotel Rooms

Comfortable rooms in a classic style. Inside, there is everything you need for a pleasant stay. I recommend booking the suite; its interior is slightly different from the others. Here, you will certainly feel like a queen.

Advantages

Very convenient location, wonderful breakfasts, helpful staff. There is also a gorgeous rooftop terrace with a beautiful view of the city. Pleasant price!

Disadvantages

It is worth noting that you cannot drive up to the hotel, as it is located on a pedestrian street.
