Great place. Overall, I have pleasant feelings so far. I've been at the hotel for almost a week and I want to leave a review: 1. As for the surroundings and the beach - overall, everything is beautiful, there are comfortable places to enter without special shoes, and the corals are fine everywhere. Plus point for that. 2. Rooms. This time we decided to try a beach villa - as we had only stayed in water ones before. The impression was mixed. To start, they do not clean well and the sand you bring from the beach immediately gets into the room, no matter if you rinse your feet or even bathe completely at the entrance, the sand will be there. Another point is the various wildlife - overall not very annoying but also not pleasant, and by the way, another nuance is the birds 🦅 they scream at night, it's terrible 😬. As for the room, overall, it is satisfactory. 3. This is about the food - there are definitely major problems with it (only the breakfast is not bad - there is red fish, toast, and a tasty omelet) all the other meals are really for someone with specific preferences - after 5 days, you will dream of our local cuisine. I will note that the fruits 🍉 are very tasty and there are a lot of them - passion fruit is really good. I would rate the food as a 3. Definitely lacking - although I am not at all picky about food. There is a plus in this - you won't gain weight 😂😂😂. 4. As for the service - there is staff at the reception who speaks Russian - special thanks to the girl, as she promptly solved any minor problems - by the way, I forgot to mention that we had 2 birthdays during our stay - my wife was congratulated the next day 😂 I wasn't congratulated at all 🙈😂😂. Let's talk about the bar: the cocktails are not bad, they use seemingly good quality alcohol - the whiskey 🥃 is nonsense, but the Silvia tequila is good for those who like it. They pour beer 🍺 but it is an acquired taste. And one big drawback - they take a very long time to bring orders - sometimes 15-20 minutes when there are not many people, even though tips were given. In conclusion - if you take a water villa with a pool - you can relax there or on a secluded beach if you are without children like us and in general, you don't care about anything and you enjoy the views - then the hotel is for you. But if you need entertainment, food, and service slightly better than in an ordinary canteen, then it is not for you.

The food is good. There is plenty of different types of fish, such as tuna, as well as chicken, lamb, beef, and pork. They also serve potatoes, Italian pasta, soups, cereals for breakfast, rice, cooked vegetables, seafood, fruits, and desserts. Everything is plentiful and deliciously prepared. The chef speaks Russian. If you give tips to the fruit vendor, they will prepare a fruit plate for you in advance with fruits that are not on display. The papaya there is excellent and the mango is sweet. We gave tips to the waiters and they provided us with good service. As soon as we entered the dining room, they ran over to us and quickly brought us everything we needed. While we were getting our food, our drinks were already set up for us. We also gave tips to the room attendant and they brought us our candies three times a day. They constantly changed our towels, provided us with water, and made various decorations. They arranged everything beautifully. We tried diving. It cost $150. It was my daughter's first time diving and she really enjoyed it. The diving instructor speaks Russian. He did a great job and calmed her down when she started getting scared during the training. The girls at the reception who spoke Russian were great! They solved all our issues and helped us with everything. Maria did a photo session for us. She has a professional camera. The photos came out bright and of good quality. It cost $150. Overall, the hotel left a good impression.

And what about alcohol? Thank you for the review - we are going on the 12th of February with my wife for our birthdays. We would like to not spoil the experience.

avatar

We only drank cocktails. The cocktails were good. The wine was nice. We didn't have any strong drinks.

Question with numbers: we had a water villa - then some problem arose and we were offered a beach villa.

avatar

I recommend the beach villa on the side where the reception is located, from 101 to 110. It is close to the restaurant, the bar, and the beach is better there, without wind and waves. These villas have a pool. On the other side, without a pool (most of them), there are waves, rocks, breakwaters, and corals. Initially, we were given a villa on the opposite side. We were shocked. We started panicking. We went to the reception, feeling tearful and everything was bad. The next day, we were moved to villa 110. It's probably still good until 115. After that, the beach starts to narrow down, becoming more and more rocky. And in the end, at the 100s villas, there is no beach anymore. The sea is practically right in front of the villas. The shoreline is not shallow. It is inconvenient.

Is there no problem with Champagne in the mornings?

avatar

Bar from 10 a.m. We didn't take champagne at the bar. There is wine in the room at the bar. 375 ml of two bottles (red and white) French wine. Good.

Animators, super guys. Special respect to those who dance with the kids🔥 For those who will be on Breña, the crab races cost $5, but they didn't warn about it))) We saw it in the bill upon departure. The beach in the photo is before lunch. Sand))) it's different everywhere, if it's in the lagoon on the spit, it's almost like flour))) and so it is throughout the island with coral crumbs.

avatar

We were here in December 2022, villa 113, walking without flippers, including a 2-year-old child. There were not many people, maybe because the hotel was just getting started. Overall, we liked it. Currently, we are vacationing at Coco Palm Dhuni.

avatar

Agreed, you can walk without flip-flops, but you won't be able to enter the water.

This is an active island, if you want complete relaxation and solitude, then as for me, this is not the island for that. There are many activities, 5 bars + the main restaurant, water motorcycles, and boats for rent. There are also entertainments for children, a kids' room. There are a lot of people here, tables in the restaurant are not reserved for you, so you always have to look for a place to sit if you are a little late. The food is tasty, and the selection is excellent. The sand. The sand here is not pure white and not like flour, it has fine coral crumbs. You can walk barefoot on the island, but if you decide to swim, it's difficult without coral slippers, so everyone hangs out by the pool. Villas with a pool are fully private, cool, just one thing, because there is only vegetation around, it gets extremely hot and stuffy after 11 am. You can cool off in the ocean, okay, put on coral slippers or very carefully walk barefoot, you can use the pool by the room, but then there is no point in the ocean.

avatar

We have a villa with a pool, so we don't need coral slippers, it's perfectly fine to enter without them. They clean the corals near the pool every day. On side B, yes, it's impossible without coral slippers. It's not hot in our villa, on the contrary, there is shade from vegetation around, so there is no sun and shade. We are comfortable and not hot. If you go to eat at the beginning of lunch or dinner, it's almost empty. It has never happened that you come and there are no free tables. Of course, the tables with a view are taken first. We have been here for 10 days and during this time, we haven't had a single negative emotion.

avatar

What is your villa's number?

avatar

We had room 107, as they said, it's possible to do without corals, but carefully, you can't just walk in without looking, not to mention children. They clean up corals on the beach and shore, but not in the water. Nobody talks about the negative. It's an island drive, but you can't just lie on the edge of the ocean here. There are islands in this regard that are better, where there are no corals at all, neither in the water nor on the shore, but there are no such entertainments and such a number of people either. To each their own, we have come to the conclusion that it is better to go where there are no pools and bars, but there are gentle entrances to the water without dead corals. And of course, I'm only talking about the Maldives.

We are currently staying at this hotel. I recommend the hotel. At first, they gave us a villa on side B. There were waves and many corals there. We asked to change, and they upgraded us for free to a villa with a pool. The villas with pools are located on side A, where the reception is. It's nice there. The food at the hotel is superb. Everything is very delicious. The cocktails are tasty (except the Mojito - not enough mint). The service is top-notch. There is a payment option via QR code for Russia. I read negative reviews about the hotel, but I don't know what people can complain about. Adapters are not needed as all chargers fit perfectly into their sockets. In the villa, there is French white and red wine in the refrigerator. In general, there is a lot of Italian and French food in the hotel. The blue cheese is fantastic. We are demanding tourists, but everything here is great. The water is warm, like Tiffany colors. The villa with the pool is completely private. No one can see it. Snorkeling is free once. We went today. The reef is dead. There are no beautiful colors. There are various fishes and a turtle. Snorkeling lasted about 30 minutes. There are manta rays near the main pier during the day. They bury themselves in the sand. In the evening, they provide bread to feed the fish. Today, there were sharks swimming there. The bathrooms have everything. If you have a baggage allowance of 10 kg, you don't need to bring shampoos, conditioners, razors, shaving foam, moisturizing body lotion, toothpaste, and a toothbrush. Towels are changed and brought as many times as you want, even twice a day. There are two types of coffee: a coffee machine and a drip coffee maker. They are placed next to each other. I personally prefer the drip coffee in terms of taste. The juices come in packets, but there are paid smoothies. In the store, there are 4 flavors of sticks, electronic cigarettes, and cigarettes. Today, we bought 2 coconuts for $23. During the day, there are activities at the pool. Aqua aerobics, bachata, salsa, games. Yoga in the morning. Shows and dances in the evening. Most people hang out by the pool. Foreigners really love pools. Only a few people swim in the sea. We like it more that way. You can swim and there's no one around, unlike in Turkey or Thailand. The garden villas are located in the center of the island (in a strip in the middle along the entire island). The location is not very convenient. You can't directly access the beach, you have to walk halfway across the island to reach it. We went to the à la carte restaurant Manta. We ordered lobsters. They were prepared fantastically. Very tender and delicious. The side dishes were rice and steamed vegetables. Everything was prepared at a high level. 2 lobsters, tom yum soup, ice cream, and dessert. The total cost was $162. Drinks, including good wine (Sauvignon Blanc), are complimentary.

avatar

Hello, and what about playing with the reef? Is snorkeling interesting?

avatar

No, the reef is dead. People go snorkeling there. It's just that snorkeling is not the main thing for us.

Which villa is better to choose? With a water pool? Or on land?

avatar

What is your preference? Water villa or on land? Water villas are the furthest away. It's a long walk, and they are not very attractive when you approach them. There are stones and some iron tanks in the water. And also, pay attention to the sound of the sea. If you are considering villas with a pool on land, then choose from 101 to approximately 116. It's the best location.

306 is the room where the Water Villas are not located. The ones near the restaurant, from 101 to 110, and further down this side of the beach, are newer. In our opinion, the room we had was more private, with the beach not showing the pool because of the dense vegetation, but there was also no breeze (stuffy). We managed to stay on the other side as well, Villa 306 with a pool. The room itself is slightly larger (and more expensive), with a view of the blue ocean from the bed, and the veranda is well-ventilated, but you can also see the pool from the beach. I must say, though, that on each side there are villas that are completely covered by vegetation and you can't see anything, and vice versa.

We took a deluxe room on the beach with a pool. When there was a tropical downpour (which was very loud, especially at night), it was more peaceful there. And we enjoyed going out to the beach. There were hardly any people there. The photo attached to the review is actually from the plane's landing. It can be seen that some water villas have direct access to the sand.

We were in December 2022. Beautiful hotel, rooms with excellent privacy (we had a villa with a pool). For those who love seclusion, a peaceful and quiet vacation, this is a great choice 🥰. The food was good, we had no complaints, the chefs, and the entire hotel staff always tried to help whenever needed. We flew with a little child, 2.9 years old (the chefs made french fries for him and always brought some treats) so he was never hungry :)). For info, there is a small souvenir shop, but it was quite weak by the end of 2022. Maybe something has changed in a year... There is no house reef (but you can see fish near the water villas) and they take you to a reef not far from the shore where you can see sharks (rays), which you don't often encounter in the Maldives. We met one near the shore close to the dive center with our children :). In my opinion, the beach is as good as the beach in Boracay (Philippines), which is among the top 10 best beaches in the world. And the fact that corals are washed up on the shore by waves, that's the ocean, and that's how it should be :). I attached a photo from diving. Please note, if you compare it to Bandos, on Bandos, the vegetation reaches the water's edge, while on Brennia, all the beaches are open, and there is shade only under umbrellas and near the villas (if this aspect is important to you when choosing a hotel).

avatar

What do you think of the food and fruits?

avatar

The food is also good, there is everything, fruits are absolutely different to suit any taste.

And where is the best ocean entrance if the villa doesn't have a pool?

avatar

There is generally good access everywhere, and you will see large corals yourself (they are near the water forks from the side of the Manta restaurant), but there is also a lot of diverse marine life near these forks due to the presence of large rocks (if you are interested in snorkeling) 🙂

Show all replies in a thread (1)

Does marine life not bother you?

No, she doesn't bother anyone. We are snorkeling and diving enthusiasts who were just looking for a place on this island where we can see some fish 🙂.

Guys, what about the sun loungers?! Do they have room numbers? Or how does it work?

avatar

Each room has its own sun loungers and umbrella. We had a villa with a swimming pool and direct access to the ocean without any corals. And on the other side of the island, you could also enter the water without encountering any corals. There are no hammocks, but there are swings 🙂.

At all inclusive, there is a visit to the restaurant instead of dinner most of the time (by prior arrangement). Here, I cannot advise you, even though we had all inclusive, we were more focused on water entertainment. We did not visit the bars. In the room, there was juice in a glass.

We liked the hotel. I can't compare it with other hotels in the Maldives as it was our first time there, but we have stayed in hotels of various levels in many places. We didn't consider the overwater villa. Our villa with a pool was number 101, located near the restaurant and reception. There was a Russian-speaking girl at the reception. We were able to check in earlier than expected. The beach had waves and shallow coral. The food was good, with ice cream available every day and oatmeal for breakfast. There were no freshly squeezed juices, only packaged ones for free, but we bought fresh ones for $5. There were plenty of fruits. The room was cleaned twice a day and towels were changed twice a day as well. I brought my own toiletries. The water and minibar were replenished daily. They had white and red wine, cola, sprite, and fanta. We used the gym and went on free excursions. The spa prices had a 25% discount for all guests during the first two days. The snorkeling was good. My daughter went diving with an instructor for $220 per hour. We rented a transparent canoe for $50, and the yellow ones were free. The underwater scooter cost $65 for 20 minutes, and you need to book the floating breakfast in the room for $110 in advance. We didn't go to the paid restaurants. The prices at the bar were not cheap, so it's better to go for the all-inclusive option from the start. There were many bats and lizards. There were no mosquitoes, but there were flies, although they treated for insects. We had an early departure and had breakfast at 5:30 am. The flight to Male Airport was at 6:30 am. I recommend the hotel.

avatar

We were here in April of 23rd year. The SPA is unreasonably expensive and doesn't meet expectations, but the cocktails are good. They accept Union Pay cards. Excellent diving with instructor Oleg. In terms of experience, it's better to come to this hotel as a couple, as there is not much to do here.

We stayed at this hotel from October 4th to October 10th. There was occasional rain for 3 days and sunny weather with breathtaking sunsets for the rest of the days. We were greeted at the Male airport and taken to the business lounge to wait for the seaplane. They offered drinks and snacks. We reached the island by seaplane, which took about 50 minutes including dropping off tourists at another island. We were met, registered, and taken to our beach villa. The island is small, it can be fully explored on the beach in 15 minutes. It is beautiful, green, and well-maintained with birds, geckos, flying foxes, and crabs. The villa was clean, comfortable, and tastefully furnished. The villa was cleaned every day, including changing the linens and towels. I must say that the staff is very dedicated to pleasing the tourists, they are all polite and friendly. The Russian-speaking administrator Mila is always ready to help and give advice. There are hardly any people on the beach, and it is possible to enter the water without wearing aqua shoes (there are a few corals about 2 meters in, but further on it's just sand). There is almost no reef and few fish, but the snorkeling tour included in the package allowed us to see fish, turtles, and reef sharks. Regarding the food, we had an all-inclusive package. The minibar in the villa was replenished with soft drinks, bottled water, coffee/tea. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were served at the Lime restaurant. Every day, the cuisine included dishes from different countries such as Greece, India, and a seafood day, among others. Overall, the food was tasty, but don't expect any culinary delights. Alcohol is included in the all-inclusive package - red/white wine during meals, and beer and spirits at the beach sports bar (we didn't try them, so I can't comment on the quality). The bar where you can have various cocktails (a very wide selection), wines, and spirits is open almost all day. We went to the à la carte Manta restaurant once - it was quite expensive (for example, half a lobster portion cost $79) and didn't live up to our expectations in terms of the dishes. As for activities, there was entertainment every evening at the bar - live folk music on the drums, a cocktail party on the beach, and one evening a guitarist performed. There is billiards, small and large tennis, darts, and tabletop games available on the island. After 3 days, we were moved to a beach villa with a pool on the other side of the island as construction works were taking place on our side of the beach. The villa was exactly the same, just with a clean and beautiful pool. As a compliment, they offered us an excursion - a sunset boat trip with dolphins, champagne, and snacks (which normally costs $90). We didn't see any dolphins but witnessed a magical sunset. On the reception side of the beach and villas with pools, you can only enter the water and swim wearing aqua shoes because the bottom is covered with coral debris. All the villas are very secluded, you can't see the neighbors. And in general, the island is very peaceful with few people. There were no bedbugs, cockroaches, or ants in the villas. There were very few mosquitoes, and the area was treated twice during our stay.

avatar

Thank you for such a detailed review. We are going to this hotel on January 14th. Can you please tell me if you have been to the spa? Are the cocktails delicious? Do they accept UnionPay cards for payment?

avatar

We haven't been to the spa, as we found the prices too high. The cocktails are delicious and don't seem to dilute the alcohol. We had some Daiquiris, Mojitos, and Gin & Tonics - quite acceptable. As for Union Pay cards, I can't say anything about them. We actually paid for additional expenses in cash upon check-out.

We did not drink alcohol, but I saw Carlsberg beer, wine, whisky, Aperol, and others on the menu. The drinks seemed normal. Some of them come at an additional cost, but if everything is included, the price is 50-60% lower. There was no Mojito available during our entire stay (they didn't have mint). There were also a few days when they ran out of coconuts, and the cost of a coconut was $12. Only wine and beer were free during dinner, other alcoholic beverages required an additional payment. At the bar nearby, drinks were free.
