Soon I will be traveling to Riga, where my photo exhibition will take place. Therefore, I need to find a good hotel for accommodation. It is important that the hotel serves a delicious breakfast. I cannot skip this meal for health reasons, so I always make sure to keep an eye on it. I searched for options, reviewed the feedback, and compiled here a list of places with the most delicious breakfasts according to guests' opinions. I would like to study in more detail what these hotels have to offer in order to choose the perfect one. The image galleries and prices get refreshed with the latest updates regularly. They were last updated on April 18, 2025.

I added this hotel to my list because it is located in the Old Town, and it offers a view of the Daugava River, the old churches, and the city towers. It is also next to a shopping center. I believe this is a very convenient location. Moreover, it is certified by Green Key, HotelStar Union. This is a European classification system where the main criteria are quality management, health, and living conditions. I would be pleased to stay and live in such a place.
Starting my day with a healthy breakfast is the key to feeling great all day and having the energy to accomplish all my tasks. You can enjoy the meal at the AVALON restaurant, where breakfast is served buffet-style. It includes: muesli, honey, yogurts and milk, fruits and vegetables, freshly baked bread and croissants, hot toasts, homemade desserts and pastries, fruit and vegetable salads, omelets, boiled and fried eggs, fish, juices, tea, and coffee. There are also gluten-free options available. The restaurant has its own schedule for breakfast: from October to April on weekdays from 7 to 10, on weekends from 8 to 11, and from April to September every day from 7 to 11.
It is very thoughtful of the hotel to specify when the best time to come for breakfast is. On the website, there is a traffic light schedule that shows when the busiest and quietest hours are. For example, from 7 to 8:30, the breakfast atmosphere is the quietest and most pleasant, while from 8:30 it becomes busier but with available seats, and from 9:30 to 11:00 is the busiest time, resulting in a line. Knowing this, you can easily plan your morning.
The AVALON HOTEL & Conferences has 111 comfortable rooms, including suites, non-smoking rooms, and rooms for guests with limited mobility. All of them include free WI-FI and breakfast. Personally, I would choose a Junior Suite. This room features a beautiful view of the Old Town. I liked that it has soundproof windows and doors, a desk with a lamp, a very beautiful bathroom with a hairdryer and shampoo, a flat-screen TV with cable television, air conditioning, an iron and ironing board, hangers, and other amenities.
Guests at the hotel appreciated the cleanliness and comfort, silence, the presence of everything necessary in the rooms, polite staff, and a tasty and diverse breakfast in the café. Among the downsides, patrons noted in reviews that not all breakfast items were provided every day. For example, red fish and champagne with sweets were only available on weekends and in small quantities, and guests could take only one bottle of 0.5 liters of water. Some also pointed out that access to the parking garage was not well thought out for wide and long vehicles, and this service is paid.

I liked that the hotel is located near the Sakura and Uzvaras parks. It is a very picturesque place with trees and ponds. Also nearby flows the North Dvina River, there is a Japanese garden and the Edward Smilgis Theater Museum. And there are many trees and flowers around the building itself. As a big lover of greenery and plants, I was thrilled.
In the PRIMAVERA restaurant, located on the first floor, you can enjoy a delicious breakfast in the early morning hours. On weekdays from 07:00 to 10:00, on weekends from 07:00 to 11:00. The menu features a wide variety of cheeses, assorted meats, vegetables, including preserved ones like olives and mushrooms, plenty of fruits and baked goods, both sweet and savory, as well as various sauces and oils. Guests note the diverse and tasty selection of dishes and the good quality of the food. The hotel often accommodates large bus tours, so it can be noisy and there may be queues.
The hotel has a wide variety of rooms. I would choose one with a view of the park and a balcony; it's nice when there's a lot of greenery outside the window. It also has a relaxation area: a table and a sofa. The rooms are equipped with everything necessary: free internet access, satellite TV with international channels, a telephone, air conditioning, a bathroom with a bathtub and towel dryer, a hairdryer, and illuminated mirrors for makeup, bathrobes, slippers, and toiletries. There is also a mini-bar and an area for tea and coffee.
You can restore your energy in the hotel's relaxation area. There is a sauna, bath, and jacuzzi here. If you plan to go there, be sure to bring a swimsuit and slippers. And please note that this service is paid, 10 euros per person for 1.5 hours.
Guests note the convenient location close to the airport and the city center, good transport links, friendly staff, clean rooms, and a varied breakfast, as well as free parking. Among the drawbacks, they mention that the cleaning of the rooms is not good enough. Some also complain about the limited parking spaces, internet issues, and the noise from the fan in the bathroom.

I liked that the hotel is located in the city center, making it easy to reach the nearby beautiful streets and attractions. These include, for example, the Latvian National Opera, the Art Nouveau district, the central market, and the Freedom Monument. It is also very unusual that this hotel is 90 meters tall. Buildings of such size are typically expected to be seen in New York, not in Latvia. As I learned from the information on the website — Radisson Blu Latvija Conference & Spa Hotel is considered something of a local landmark. Moreover, it is easy to spot among the city's buildings, and you will definitely find your way.
Start your day with a delicious and hearty breakfast in a buffet format at the Esplanade restaurant. On weekdays, you can enjoy it from 6:30 to 10:30, and on weekends until 11:00 AM. According to guests, the breakfast is varied, with a large selection of dishes. It is noted that there are good meat and cheese platters, bacon, fish, pastries, and fruits. Guests also highly appreciated the excellent coffee machine and the right coffee temperature. Residents mention peak breakfast times, usually from 9 to 11, when there are large queues and it gets too noisy.
I really liked the stylishly decorated rooms of the hotel. All rooms have a comfortable atmosphere for non-smoking guests. You will have access to free high-speed Wi-Fi, a TV with Chromecast, an in-room safe, a professional hairdryer, coffee and tea making facilities, an iron with an ironing board, and a magnifying mirror. Rooms for guests with limited mobility are available upon request.
Since the hotel name contains the word SPA, you can indulge yourself with a wide selection of excellent treatments at the ESPA Riga spa center. Please note that it is considered one of the largest 5-star spa centers in the Baltics, recognized internationally. Here you can take advantage of the pool and sauna, ESPA treatments, and the ESPA Riga fitness studio. Keep in mind that access to this center is charged extra.
Grand Hotel Kempinski Riga

I decided to add a five-star hotel to my collection. For me, it combines both luxury and modern design. It is located in the very heart of Riga, in close proximity to attractions such as the Old Town and the Latvian National Opera. It is also near Bastion Park, the Freedom Monument, and the city canal.
Breakfast in buffet style at the Grand Hotel Kempinski Riga is offered daily from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM. You need to specify when booking that you require a room with meals included. Most guests are satisfied, stating that it is of good quality. Some have mentioned that there was a limited selection of dishes. For example, there are not many cold cuts, desserts, and breads.
For myself, I would choose the "Superior" room. It is spacious and equipped with a comfortable large bed, a cozy relaxation area, and a bathroom with marble finishes. When booking this room, you will have access to the Kempinski The Spa wellness center and a 24-hour fitness center.
Guests note the convenient location, cleanliness of the rooms, and the beautiful view from them. Many were delighted by the friendly staff, high-level service, and thoughtful details. For example, the changing rooms in the spa center have a centrifuge so that guests can easily wring out their swimsuits or trunks after the pool. However, there are also negative reviews, such as about the insufficient effectiveness of the air conditioner in the rooms.

I liked that the Radisson Blu Elizabete simultaneously combines style and comfort. It has a very convenient location with the Old Town in the center, opposite one of the most beautiful parks in Riga - Vermanes Garden. I also liked the restaurant and bar with a terrace in the courtyard, where you can work in the evening, as well as the Finnish sauna in the hotel's fitness center.
Start your day the right way with a delicious breakfast buffet. It is served in the restaurant on weekdays from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM, and on weekends from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Guests really enjoy the varied and hearty breakfast with a wide selection of dishes, good coffee, fresh fruits, and omelets made to order. Some have pointed out issues with dairy products: only milk and cottage cheese were served, instead of kefir and yogurts. But overall, according to reviews, the hotel has earned a high rating from visitors.
The hotel has 228 spacious rooms and suites with views of the Vernans Park or the inner courtyard. Guests can enjoy complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, tea and coffee making facilities, and toiletries. I always appreciate when a hotel takes care of all the little details. Smoking is prohibited in all rooms, and I very much support this stance. The rooms are equipped with an iron and ironing board, a TV with mirroring capabilities, a selection of pillows, slippers, and free access to the gym and sauna. There will also be individual air conditioning, a spacious bathroom with a bathtub or shower, a hairdryer, and a magnifying mirror. I read the reviews, and people mentioned that the old plumbing was in place and there were no shelves in the bathroom, as well as inconvenient cabinets and nightstands.
I found the service interesting when hypoallergenic rooms with parquet floors are provided upon request. I had not encountered such offers before and was pleasantly surprised by the care for people. It turns out that Radisson Blu Elizabete — is certified by a leading ecological labeling, which is why it offers such rooms that meet the requirements of Hotel Sustainability Basics.
