I have always dreamed of Rome. The Eternal City beckons with its ancient monuments, narrow streets, and crowds of tourists – but it also intimidates for the same reasons. While traveling, I love to simply lie down, daydream, and swim – I need the sea. "But there is no sea in Rome," I always thought. And I was wrong! The nearest beach on the Tyrrhenian Sea is only 30 km from Rome. And you can easily get there by train.
Why not take a look at hotels near Rome on the coast, so you can stroll through the eternal city during the day and sit by the sea in the evening? I found a few cool options for myself for the future and I'm sharing them with you just in case. The image galleries and prices get refreshed with the latest updates regularly. As soon as I saw a photo from the room in this hotel, I wanted to come here. The four-star Astura Palace is located on the first line. Its windows overlook the harbor with white yachts – can you imagine how beautiful that is!
This is of utmost importance to me. And although the hotel does not have its own beach, it's not an issue. There are several beaches nearby: private and municipal. All necessary infrastructure is in place: sun loungers, umbrellas, changing rooms, cafes. The entrance to the water is flat and gentle. Thanks to the breakwaters, there are no strong waves here, so swimming is very comfortable.
The location of the hotel is excellent – I choose for myself! It is located in Nettuno, 65 km from Rome. Just 100 meters from the train station – perfect for going out during the day and returning back to the sea. There are many restaurants nearby (for every taste!) and gelaterias (this is definitely my paradise!).
Besides the view from the window, I liked the Astura Palace for its amenities. A beautiful lobby in classic style, very clean, with daily cleaning and towel change. This is important to me; I always pay attention to this in reviews. Good Wi-Fi on the premises, but a bit weak in the rooms – a good reason to sit in the lobby with a cup of coffee.
They also pleased us with good breakfasts – I love to eat delicious food before long walks in new cities. You can allow yourself pastries (guests particularly praise them), if you know that you'll be walking all day afterwards.
The only drawback I found in the reviews is the lack of parking spaces in front of the hotel. But if you travel by train, then it is not an issue at all.

A great option if you plan to spend all day walking around Rome and returning to spend the night and enjoy the sea.
This is the most important thing! Several private (according to reviews, very good) beaches are located right across from the hotel. Prices range from 3 to 30 euros. They have everything you need: sun loungers, umbrellas, showers, changing rooms, and some beaches even have pools. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the public beach. Here you can also rent sun loungers and use the free shower. The sea everywhere is equally excellent - with a gentle entry, soft sand of a beautiful brownish hue, and a comfortable depth configuration.
The three-star hotel Sirenetta is located in the resort town of Ostia, right across from the beach. Just an 8-minute walk and you will be at the train station, from which you can reach the center of Rome in 40 minutes. It's also convenient to fly from here – the Roman airport "Fiumicino" is only a 15-minute drive away. A great option to spend a vacation in Rome and then move to the coast for the last couple of days to add the sea to your collection of experiences.
They are simple but cozy at the Sirenetta hotel - that's what attracted me. Here, there is everything needed for a comfortable and peaceful rest: each room has a large comfortable bed, a selection of pillows, a flat-screen TV, air conditioning, and a hairdryer. I especially liked the rooms with a terrace – I would spend all my evenings there! You can also relax in the small garden on the hotel grounds – I am sure it would be especially cozy there with an Aperol.
There will definitely be no problems with him here. Breakfast is included in the price, and guests highly praise the pastries (and that can be dangerous for the figure!). You can also have dinner right in the hotel restaurant – for me, this is especially convenient after a whole day of excursions.
This is a great hotel option for me to relax after the flight or to prepare for the trip home. Clean, quiet, beautiful – and the sea is nearby!

I love modern hotels! When you walk in and feel that sense of novelty, comfort, and style. That's why the four-star Fly Decò in Lido di Ostia caught my eye at first sight.
Let's start with the main thing. The hotel is located on the first line, you only need to walk 20 m to the beach. However, in Lido di Ostia, there are many beaches, so you can confidently stroll along the promenade and choose a spot you like. Everywhere there is a wonderful entrance to the sea, soft sand, sun loungers, umbrellas, and other infrastructure. The difference between paid and municipal beaches is only that on the free beach, you have the option to lie on your own towel or rent a sun lounger for an additional fee. On the private beach, you will pay for entry anyway and can use all the infrastructure.
It's magnificent! Getting to Rome is not a problem – the train station is within walking distance. The airport is only 11 km away – a great place to spend an evening before returning home, swim in the morning, and head to the plane.
This hotel clearly stands out from the entire selection with its modern style. I love the combination of white, blue, and turquoise. These colors are used in the interior and are harmoniously complemented by a beautiful sea view. For relaxation, everything is here: Wi-Fi (got to share those photos!), a safe, air conditioning, a flat-screen TV. There is also a refrigerator, a private bathroom, and a writing desk.
You won't have to sit in your room – at Fly Decó Hotel, there is a lovely garden, terrace, and bar. According to guest reviews, there are excellent breakfasts provided in a buffet style. And what is especially important for those who love to rent a car, there is free parking available. For me, this is an important plus – I am thinking about driving around Italy.
In my opinion, it's a great option to take a break from the noisy city, look at the sea, and just have a fantastic sleep. It's a vacation!
Corallo

I have long dreamed of trying kite surfing. Doing this half an hour away from Rome is a dream come true! This is exactly what attracted me to the Corallo hotel. Budget-friendly, clean, with a nice area and a private pool, it is also located next to the Fregene beach – a place where kite surfing is taught.
The hotel is located just 50 meters from the beach. A five-minute walk and you can go for a swim. The beaches here are municipal, but all the necessary infrastructure is available. You can rent an umbrella or a sunbed (cost from 8 euros), and there are also changing rooms and toilets available. The beaches of Fregene belong to a protected natural area – it is really very clean here, making the holiday particularly enjoyable. Additionally, these spots are favored by kitesurfers and other water sports enthusiasts - a great opportunity to try your hand at a new hobby! In the evening, you can dance at a beach party - the local youth regularly throw celebrations here.
The interiors are simple, but everything necessary for a comfortable stay is provided. Some rooms have balconies, and many guests praise the views. The bathroom is equipped with all necessary amenities, there is a TV, air conditioning, and pristine white bed linen – here you can simply relax and unwind.
Although not much is expected from a three-star hotel, Corallo delights its guests with unexpected bonuses. For example, there is an outdoor pool and a lounge area with sunbeds where you can swim, sunbathe, and simply relax in the fresh sea air. Every day, a breakfast with excellent coffee and croissants will await you. You can also have lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant. Some of the tables are located outside – I love sitting under the stars in the evenings and just reflecting on the day that has passed.
An excellent option to try kitesurfing, just to swim in the sea, pool, and prepare for your flight, as you can reach Fiumicino Airport from the hotel in just 20 minutes!

My unconditional favorite! The five-star La Posta Vecchia Hotel is located in Ladispoli, 38 km from Rome. The journey to the capital of Italy will take about an hour, but I'm sure it's worth it!
La Posta Vecchia Hotel has its own luxurious beach. You just need to walk around the hotel - and before you is the sea, comfortable sun loungers, and umbrellas. And the most amazing thing is the black sand. It is for this that tourists come to Ladispoli. Locals assure that sunbathing on such sand has a special therapeutic effect. It looks really unusual; I've never been to a beach like this before.
This is not just a standard hotel – it is a real antique manor, built in the 17th century! Reviews say there’s no feeling of being in a hotel; it seems as though you are on a visit to a wealthy lord's home. And I readily believe it – just take a look at the photos. Spacious large rooms with antique furniture, luxurious bathrooms, an indoor pool, a spa, and a Turkish bath – I don’t even know what I want to see first.
The hotel even has a small museum where you can see ancient pottery and household items found during excavations. At the same time, the hotel meets all modern requirements: free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a flat-screen TV in every room. Reviews mention a free minibar with soft drinks, quality cosmetics, a beautiful territory, and especially highlight the delicious breakfasts served in the Mediterranean cuisine restaurant with a stunning sea view. This is where the true dolce vita is!
I'm definitely adding La Posta Vecchia Hotel to my list of places I dream of visiting!
