This is the third year I am studying to become an architect, and it is time to choose a specialization. At the university, we studied the most famous bridges, and I liked the Millau Viaduct, a cable-stayed bridge over the Tarn River valley. It is the last link of the A75 route, providing high-speed travel from Paris through Clermont-Ferrand to the city of Béziers. Its total length is 2.5 km, width is 32 m, and the height of the structure is 343 m.
I am very curious about how this bridge looks up close, so I will go to Millau during the summer holidays. Moreover, this city has recently been included in the UNESCO World Heritage list! I want to look for hotels with a view of this Viaduct in advance, preferably budget-friendly. Here are the most suitable options for the trip. The image galleries and prices get refreshed with the latest updates regularly. They were last updated on December 06, 2024.

Hotel Restaurant du Bowling de Millau is also located in the city of Millau, near a large shopping center. The hotel is 5 km from the famous Viaduct and 3 km from the Graufesenque Archaeological Complex. This place will delight you with its comfortable transportation links – just a 5-minute walk to the ZAC Cap du Cres bus stop.
From here you will be able to see the Viaduct not as closely as from the first hotel, but the view will still be beautiful.
All rooms have internet access, a television, free newspapers, air conditioning, a safe, and a mini-bar. If you are traveling with family, rollaway and baby beds are available upon request, as well as evening turn-down service. The dining area of the hotel consists of a restaurant and a lounge bar, and there is a café in the lobby. Please note that the restaurant is located in a separate building from the room accommodations. Regional cuisine is usually served there.
In the hotel, you can play bowling, and after 5:00 PM in the game room — billiards, table football, and video games.
In the lobby, you will find a laundry service, as well as shops with souvenirs and newspapers. You can request a transfer to the airport.
The hotel offers affordable accommodation, suitable for bowling enthusiasts and relaxation with friends. Judging by the photos, it may seem that it is located away from the entertainment center, so it would be more suitable for travelers by car. However, you will be able to enjoy fresh air, a beautiful view of the surrounding area, and a quiet atmosphere. A good option for a couple of nights. For a longer stay, I would recommend choosing another hotel.

The hotel complex is located at the gates of the city of Millau in the Aveyron department and occupies an area of 4.5 hectares. Nearby the hotel is the Roger Julian water sports center and the Causse Gantier Workshop shop.
In the hotel restaurant, surrounded by the aromas of fresh bread and pastries, you will enjoy the view of the majestic bridge while having a breakfast buffet. You can also sunbathe at the edge of the scenic pool overlooking the Millau Viaduct. And if you book one of the chalets located on a hilltop, you will also be treated to a breathtaking view of the bridge and the surrounding countryside. There are plenty of options to see this magnificent creation.
In the hotel rooms and chalets, there is a furnished terrace and a mini-fridge. All units are equipped with an LCD TV and have a private bathroom. Depending on the type of accommodation, different benefits will be available.
Continental breakfast is served from 7:30 AM to 10 AM in a buffet format. It consists of fresh local ingredients and includes hot drinks, fruit juices, pastries and various types of bread, homemade pastries made by the chef, an assortment of jams and pasta sauces, as well as eggs, cheeses, regional meat dishes, fresh fruits, dairy products, and cereals.
With a seasonal menu, exquisite dishes, and rooms overlooking the Millau Viaduct, the restaurant here is a true space dedicated to the gastronomy of Aveyron. It is perfect for discovering all the flavors of this unique region. In the bar, open from April to the end of October, you can enjoy hot and non-alcoholic beverages, aperitifs, cocktails, as well as regional wines. It’s a wonderful place to relax and socialize.
The hotel grounds offer a wide range of outdoor entertainment: paragliding, canyoning, rock climbing, via ferrata, horseback riding, canoeing, and kayaking. Soak up the sun by the edge of the panoramic pool, fly a paraglider over your chalet, play pétanque, explore the surroundings by bike or on foot, and enjoy dishes from local producers right in the restaurant. Domaine Saint Estève will unveil this picturesque region to you.
Free private parking is available for guests. Please note when booking that the outdoor pool is open from May to October. If you arrive in an electric vehicle, charging stations will be available upon request. There are also great offers for families with small children.
The hotel complex resembles a small medieval village thanks to the chalets and the architecture of the buildings that are spread throughout the area. The Domaine Saint Estève hotel seemed to me a very cozy and colorful place with lush vegetation and mountain scenery, a beautiful view of the Millau Viaduct, as well as a variety of entertainment and comfortable rooms.
Among all the hotels, Domaine Saint Estève left the strongest impression. When I looked at the photos, I loved the atmosphere of a small cozy village, while still offering modern amenities. I was especially inspired by the stone buildings and the landscapes overlooking the Viaduct, and you can also sit quietly on the grass and make sketches.

Hericlea Hotel Sport is located on the bank of the river in the city of Millau. Nearby are the Millau Viaduct, La Couvertoirade, St. Eulalie de Cernon, the Millau Museum, and other attractions.
When you have breakfast on the hotel terrace, a wonderful view of the Millau Viaduct and mountain landscapes will unfold before you. For me, this is a great option as I can sketch right at the table. You can also enjoy this view from the pool.
Each room has a TV and free Wi-Fi. The chalet will have a kitchenette with a microwave and a refrigerator. The hotel offers family rooms and special rooms for non-smokers. Every morning at Hericlea Sport, a breakfast buffet is served.
You will be able to enjoy all sports and leisure facilities for free. For example, relax in the sauna or the pool with a mountain view, or work out in the fitness center. For an additional fee, try the steam room. You can also engage in racquetball or go for a hike. Nearby, at the local guarded beach, you can go water skiing.
The hotel is pet-friendly. It also offers free parking if you are traveling by car.
For a modest price, the hotel offers a sufficient selection of entertainment, a wonderful view, and a convenient location.
