A unique Japanese hotel that is over 1300 years old!

Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan is the oldest hotel in the world and is located in the Japanese village of Hayakawa. Founded in 705, the hotel celebrates its 1311th birthday. Particularly surprising is the fact that for all this time, this unique hotel has been owned by the same family, which has seen 52 generations change!
Moreover, during its 13 centuries of existence, the hotel has closed several times only for renovations. The last reconstruction took place here in 1998. The interiors of Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan reflect traditional Japanese style combined with all the necessary modern amenities. However, you will not find any television or internet here: everything in the hotel is aimed at providing guests with the perfect conditions for relaxation of the body and mind.

The main feature of the hotel is the hot baths fed by underground springs.

The hotel is located in a mountain valley, so all windows offer a view of the mountains.

The menu features traditional Japanese dishes.

The house is heated by hot springs, and all the water in the hotel comes from there. There is even a little fountain at the entrance.

The hotel has 35 rooms, all furnished in traditional Japanese style. In each room, emperors, military leaders, and samurai have stayed over time.

People come here to escape from information noise and be alone with themselves.

Some rooms have access to a private stone pool. And those who are tired of swimming can sit in the sauna.
