My friend and I travel quite often and have already been to 112 countries! I always choose hotels and apartments; I have a knack for it. Next month we are going to Vienna, and I really want to find an option with a great view of the historic city center, the Vienna State Opera, or St. Stephen's Cathedral. But, of course, I wouldn't mind a picturesque view of the Danube River either. The only thing is our budget is a bit limited, so first of all, I'm looking for affordable places. Fortunately, there are quite a few in Vienna, and I've even compiled a personal top list with beautiful views from the window. The image galleries and prices get refreshed with the latest updates regularly. They were last updated on February 07, 2025.

Another affordable yet very good option is the Hilton Vienna Waterfront, located on the banks of the Danube River. I believe this option is more suitable for warmer weather, as it even has an outdoor pool with a view of the river and the promenade. This same view will accompany us in the room as well. I love water, and staying with a view of the Danube is a true dream!
There are many rooms in the hotel with a river view, it's just a pity that the windows in the rooms are not panoramic. The view will be approximately the same everywhere, but it's better to choose a room on a higher floor. From the window, you will see the Danube, the opposite bank, a bridge, a dock, and the waterfront. Beautiful! Reviews mention that the view is especially beautiful at sunrise when fog lies over the river. I would even wake up earlier for this!
It must be acknowledged that the location is not the most convenient for us. After all, we would like to live closer to the center or at least have the option to walk there quickly. Unfortunately, this hotel cannot boast about that. It takes over an hour to walk to St. Stephen's Cathedral, although part of the route is through the park and along the canal promenade.
On the plus side: there is a huge Park Prater with attractions nearby, the Krieau metro station (from which you can go to the center) and Stadion, a large shopping center called Stadion Center, and a beautiful promenade for walks.
When I saw the photographs, this hotel seemed a bit dated to me. However, judging by the reviews, tourists are quite satisfied with it. Many write that this is the perfect place at reasonable prices. I would like to especially note the beautiful waterfront nearby and the very tasty and hearty breakfast! Many guests recommend having lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant. They say that this is where you can try traditional Austrian dishes: Viennese goulash soup, schnitzel, strudel, and much more.
Unlike the previous option, the rooms here are very spacious. In the family suites, there is even enough space for two large beds, a work area, and a relaxation area.
As far as I understand, there are significant problems with the staff: guests are dissatisfied with the service, the check-in process, and the organization of breakfast.

My friend's favorite is a small four-star hotel with a view of St. Stephen's Cathedral. It is a bit more expensive than the previous options, but believe me, it's worth it! Moreover, it has a perfect location, excellent reviews, and judging by the photos, very comfortable rooms.
There are several rooms with a view of the cathedral in the hotel: standard double rooms and suites with a cozy balcony. Of course, I liked the suite much better. First of all, it is twice as large as the standard room, and secondly, the view from the suite's windows is more picturesque, and there are more windows as well. Of course, in addition to the cathedral, other attractions and the entire historic center of Vienna are visible. This view is especially beautiful from the restaurant on the top floor. To be honest, I couldn't find a single five-star hotel in Vienna with a similar view. And in the reviews, they only talk about it! I think its presence offsets all the shortcomings of this place, although of course, it's worth mentioning them as well.
The hotel is located right next to the city park of Vienna. I am very pleased with such a neighborhood; you can walk or jog in the morning. In front of the building is Theodor-Herz-Platz — a small green square, and opposite is a cool coffee shop Elias Coffee Shop, where I plan to buy coffee sometimes. There is a metro station Stubentor within a 5-minute walk, and you can reach St. Stephen's Cathedral and Mozart's House in 7 minutes. In the hotel building, but on the other side, there is a cinema Gartenbaukino, and only a road separates it from the park.
To be honest, I consider this location the most advantageous. Nearby is a large green park, and the main attractions can be reached in 10-15 minutes.
I want to note that the rooms in this hotel look a bit outdated. There is no design here, and the furniture clearly needs refreshing. Despite this, they appear quite comfortable. The standard rooms are small (about 20 sq. m), but I was most surprised by the single room with an area of 12 sq. m with its own terrace. If I were traveling alone, I would definitely choose that one. Can you imagine, a whole terrace just for me!
As far as I understand, it can be cool in the rooms during winter, the restaurant is not open in the evenings, and the elevators sometimes break down.
Otherwise, the place is very nice. It has excellent reviews, often mentioning the delicious breakfasts and great service. The hotel has private parking, which is also a huge plus for any European capital.
25hours Hotel Vienna at MuseumsQuartier
- Distance from city center:
- 1.4 km
- Bar / Lounge
- Bicycle Rental
- Free Wi-Fi
- WiFi
- Garden
- Restaurant
- Air Conditioned
Among all the budget hotels with a panoramic view, I chose 25hours Hotel Vienna at MuseumsQuartier. I really liked its designer rooms, unusual interiors, and the stunning panoramic view of Vienna. After reading the reviews, I was convinced that this option is the perfect balance of price and quality. I will be honest, it is not the cheapest, but just look at how cool it is!
I'll start with the fact that the hotel has a stylish bar right on the roof. Of course, the view from there is simply incredible. You can see the city center, numerous attractions, including the entire museum district, and on a clear day, you can even see the mountains on the horizon! This view is especially beautiful at night and late evening when lights and illuminations come on everywhere!
All rooms offer a decent view of the city (except for the lower floors), but what attracts me the most in this regard is the large room with a panoramic view on the second to last floor. It has huge panoramic windows, and the space itself is quite spacious, so the view is simply amazing! Unusually, on the balcony, in addition to a small table and chairs, there is also a bathtub. I'm not sure I'll be able to lie in it, but it looks cool!
Another successful location for the hotel. It is located in Neubau, the 7th district of Vienna with designer shops, art galleries, and trendy restaurants and bars. The museum quarter is very close by, so within walking distance, there are several museums: modern art, natural history, the World Museum, Leopold and many others. I haven't been to any of them, so I like this proximity.
Another plus is that the building is located right next to a small and cozy Weghuber Park, so it won't be noisy outside, and you can sleep with the window open. Opposite is the Auerspberg Palace, and just a couple of steps from the hotel are public transport stops. The Volkstheater metro station is nearby, but I don't even know if we'll need it since this is the city center, and I really enjoy walking!
By the way, just a few steps away, there is a large shopping street - I plan to go there for shopping!
I really liked this hotel, it's so unusual and stylish! It's no wonder it's located in the museum quarter, as it resembles a small museum itself. Each room is a true work of art with vintage furniture and unique details. I must say, all the rooms are so bright. Just look at how beautifully the walls are painted here!
Reviews note that it's clean, warm, and cozy inside; there's a delicious Italian cuisine menu in the evenings, as well as awesome hearty breakfasts (and very beautiful ones!). There’s a sauna, a fitness room, underground parking with an elevator that takes you straight to the hotel.
But what I like most is the location. During my last visit, I hadn't been to this area at all, and it turns out it's so cool!

And finally, I left one more four-star hotel with a wonderful view of the Vienna Opera. This is one of the main attractions of the city. During my search, I found several five-star options with a similar view, but all of them are too expensive. Therefore, I am very happy to discover O11 Boutique Hotel Vienna, where for a reasonable price we will get excellent service and a fabulous view from the window.
The view of the Vienna State Opera opens up from several rooms. These include suites, standard double rooms, and family suites. When booking, it's essential to clarify the availability of a view; I even had to call the hotel to choose a room with a view. Of course, the higher the floor, the nicer the view will be.
The rooms have small balconies from where you can admire the opera and the lively road next to the hotel. In the evening, when the lighting comes on, the Vienna State Opera looks simply magical!
Accordingly, the hotel is located right next to the Vienna Opera and the Burggarten. They are separated only by the busy road Opernring. Nearby is the pedestrian street Kärntnerring, and the nearest metro station Karlsplatz is just a 5-minute walk away. All major attractions, including St. Stephen's Cathedral, are within walking distance.
I can't say that I'm thrilled about this location. It's the very center of the city, and there are always so many tourists and hustle and bustle. A road runs right by the hotel, which means it will be problematic to sleep with the window open. Moreover, there are practically no grocery stores and inexpensive cafes within walking distance.
The hotel looks like it could be five-star. Luxurious spacious rooms with new furniture and all amenities. However, in the reviews, I saw several comments where guests complained about cleanliness and the quality of housekeeping. Also, the staff does not speak English well, which could be a problem for us since we do not speak German. For some reason, guests really do not like the bathroom. As far as I understood, there is no place to dry towels, and the ventilation does not work well.
On the other hand, the hotel has fast Wi-Fi and delicious breakfasts! There is private parking, but it is not cheap (35 euros/day!).
I think you've already understood that I have simply fallen in love with 25hours Hotel Vienna at MuseumsQuartier. I can already imagine living in this chic designer room with a panoramic view of the city! I will book it right now while there are available rooms!

The first on my list is a four-star hotel with a view of the Belvedere Palace and a very beautiful garden. It's great that the building is located in the center, close to all the main attractions and the metro station. The rooms here are, of course, small, but for such a low price, I didn't expect more.
The main advantage of this hotel is the stunning view of the Belvedere Garden, the palace, and the university botanical garden. The best option is to book a panoramic room or the signature "Belvedere" suite. The latter is more spacious, but the former has more windows, which means a better view. I like that the beds are right by the window; I love to wake up and enjoy the view for a few minutes.
The hotel is located between the Belvedere Garden and Swiss Garden in the Landstraße district (this is the so-called third district of Vienna, not far from the center). The only downside is the proximity to the highway, which is always busy with cars. It is said to be noisy here even at night, and you can only sleep with the window closed. However, the area is quite convenient for us. We are not new to the city, so we try to avoid tourist quarters. And here it’s good: there are two parks nearby, a palace complex, you can take a stroll towards the river, and if desired, take the subway to any point in the city. By the way, the Südtiroler Platz station of the red line is a 5-7 minute walk from the hotel; from there you can easily get to the center. There is also no shortage of cafes and restaurants. For example, Aufzug Café is located right across the street, and that is our favorite place in Vienna!
I thought it was a stylish and modern hotel with a great location. I really like its location right at the entrance to the Belvedere Castle Park and just a 5-minute walk from the Wien Quartier Belvedere Bahnhof station. In the reviews, I read about some incredible breakfasts. By the way, they last from 6:30 to 12:00, which is quite a rarity! Judging by the photos, the lobby and restaurant have an interesting interior; cozy, with various lovely details everywhere. The rooms are also very nice, but they are not as spacious as advertised, since 40 sq. m for a suite is a bit small! However, the bathroom has a hairdryer with attachments for different hair types and a good quality body lotion!
It’s great that there are lockers for storing luggage. It’s very convenient if your departure from the city is significantly later than the check-out time.
Also, I want to warn that most rooms have transparent doors and windows in the bathroom. Of course, this is acceptable for a couple, but in any other case, it’s quite strange.
